Inkspiration Colour Challenge #46

Hey everyone!

Well you are all probably wondering what happened to me last night and why I didn’t post on time! All I can say is that I had my creation created early for once, I edited all the photos, typed my post up and then I scheduled it to post at six last night……..but when I checked this morning the post had completely disappeared and I don’t think it published at all! Ggrrrrr!!

But it’s all good! I have something super cute to show!

I love these boots, and I have been making heaps of these the past week…plus an array of other super cute things. This would be why I have been missing in blog land. I hope to get back to regular tuning soon!

I love to put bags of red licorice or scented soaps inside for quick easy gift ideas. On Father’s Day you can do the sock in masculine colours and fit a couple of pairs of mens socks inside or hankies….what ever takes your fancy!

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #45

Hey everyone!

It’s time for a fabulous Inkspiration Challenge. I was so in the mood to make a card this morning because for the past three days I have been concentrating on scrapping for my kid’s school. I have mentioned before that I am having a stall at the ‘Christmas in the Country’ Art & Craft show that is held annually here in Gatton and it is the schools biggest fundraiser. It starts with an opening night on the Thursday evening and then a jam-packed two days of over 2000 visitors coming from all over SE QLD. That doesn’t explain the scrapping though does it???? Well it is the 20th anniversary for the Art & Craft show and they want to do something special for the event by showing a power point slide of pictures from the previous years of the event including scrapped pages. Having an album there for people to peruse past years would be just fabulous. I just hope I get more done!

So here’s this weeks challenge

Pretty cute huh?

What do you think of my creation?

I wasn’t too sure at first but I think I’m falling for it! LOL! I haven’t played with the glitter for ages…not sure why, I think this heart looks gorgeous. I don’t have a die for a heart yet, so I had to hand cut this one. Took me ages to come up with the right shape and size… LOL! I was having a bad hand-drawn day!

  • Stamp Set– Element of Style, Tiny Tags
  • Cardstock– Crumb Cake, Bravo Burgundy, Pink Pirouette, Pink Pirouette DSP
  • Ink– Versa Mark, Bravo Burgundy, Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake
  • Accessories– Clear embossing powder, Chunky Pink Glitter, Heat Tool, Mat Pack, Clear Rhinestone Brad, Jewellery Tag punch, Cutter Kit, Tombow Mono Multi Glue

Inkspiration Challenge #44

Hey everyone!

Sorry this is late! But I had a disagreement with Photoshop Elements this arvy…it won….but I came back and gave it what for and I won that round! LOL! I also had trouble with this weeks challenge. I just couldn’t wrap my head around the colours and there are quite a few samples lying in my bin right now! Don’t get me wrong……the combo is fine and dandy it was just my mind telling me I had no ideas! My initial thought was to do something with Extreme Elements but I used that set with the last challenge and I wanted to give you something different to look at. After playing with Awash With Flowers for a while I came back to my Extreme set…..I just couldn’t help it. LOL!

I was hoping the blue would be stronger so it was not so transparent, but I think it would only have worked with the craft ink which isn’t available anyway, but I do like that it is subtle enough for a cool girl card. What do you think?

I also have some photos I took the other day from our visit to the Wivenhoe Dam Spillway. The Wivenhoe Dam is purging water as it as at 100% and we are expecting a lot of rain in the coming months so they are making room. Very important as this dam stops Brisbane from being flooded and was built after the ’74 floods. The Spillway has not been opened for over 11 years and is quite an extraordinary sight to behold. It was so very busy there that Traffic Controllers were called in to handle the crowds. Everyone was dripping wet from the spray but no one cared. The kids were in awe. The power of water is simply amazing. You could feel the force as it rushed past.

On the way out alongside the road was a koala in a tree, we stopped to take photos and were greeted by a very cute and curious looking baby koala being cuddled by mum.

Well that’s it from me! I have a busy weekend getting ready for the craft fair next month.

Making more Monsters!!

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to show you the other card that I made at Michelle’s. Before leaving for her place I decided to cut down on what I was taking by choosing colour combos with the Colour Coach and only taking those colours in the CS. Clever hey??! I just had to match up the colours with Stamp Sets now!! LOL!

Well I wanted to play with Make a Monster and the Baja Breeze Sweet Set combo , I thought, went well with it…..what do you think?

Check out those eyes….just a touch leary…but hey he’s a monster! LOL!

I also did a little spritzing, just to dirty it up a bit so it is not so clean and crisp. More of a Darcy card LOL!

Baby Bundle!

Hey everyone!

On Thursday I told you all I was off to visit my buddy Michelle. Well I had a fabulous day! Even though we intended to stamp all day, we didn’t quite get there! LOL! Firstly I left home 2 hrs later than planned {don’t ask, LOL!}, got there did some chatting, started creating, did some more chatting, had lunch, more chatting, and then more stamping……….OMG!!! I have to go, it’s getting late! Oh well! The day just went too fast. So after saying my goodbyes I head off in the sunset only to get stuck in traffic on the Pacific Motorway for an hour and a half! I’m not even sure what it was that made us sit there that long….all of a sudden we were off and there was no clues to what blocked us. Later closer to home on the Warrego Highway there was a terrible accident in a well-known black spot and I was thankful ten minutes earlier I jumped off to get some dinner {which I planned to get in Gatton} at Plainlands.  What a mess. Wreckage was strewn all across the four lane highway {{{{shudder}}}} Scary stuff!

But anyway I did manage to create 2 cards on my visit and this is one of them

I was very impressed with the example in the catalogue, I recreated it some what. I left out a couple of the stamps and did a couple of my own things, but generally the same. I think I might love this set! I will play with it some more and I will let you know!

Inkspiration Challenge #41 WINNER!!

Hey everyone!

It’s time to choose our Winner and Honorable Mention for this week! Everyone did so beautifully with their sketches and of course that makes it harder for me! LOL! I want to thank everyone for playing along and sharing your creations with everyone. Isn’t it amazing  when looking at someone’s card you get all inspired and crafty {well that happens for me anyway LOL!}. There are so many fabulous ideas out there and I want to try them all! LOL! How do you think I will go??

So on to this weeks winner….Rachel Jackson I love how elegant it is with subtle sneak peeks of the flourish in the BG. Oh and the Antique Brad how perfect is it??! Love, love, love it!! Congratulations Rachel you can now be next weeks guest designer. I will email you soon!

Our Honorable Mention goes to Madonna Dunn. I love what Madonna has done with the Shimmer Paint {can you believe I am still yet to get some! LOL!} turning it into a mist and the Baja Breeze Base has been covered with it. So sparkly! It’s a beautiful card! Love it!

I have also put up a slideshow to showcase everyone elses beautiful work. There was only one I couldn’t put up and that was Jenene’s. It had a copyright and I was unable to save it.

Well I am off to do the card for tonight’s Inkspiration! Nothing like last-minute!
