Some Equine Love!

Hello everyone,

As some of you know, and can tell from my previous post, my girls are equestrians and I think their horses are pretty darn special. We had our good friend from Kontour Photography come out and take photos of the girls with their horses including the one from the previous post. I thought I would share them all with you, please note that is my watermark on them but Bria Hurst is the photographer.

Now I will let you all bask in their gloriousness…..

They are simply stunning. My only regret is we ran out of time to include our fourth horse Dusty. We will do this again and include him for sure as he was a very important part of the girls beginning to their riding career….and the best friend you can have.

I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into our horsey heaven.

Happy Heart

Hello everyone,

Day two of my return to blogging…..total shock, horror!

Haha! It won’t last long I assure you as I have to get back into the swing of things and I am sure I will have days where I am too busy, just like everyone else.

I have returned with another layout, and I think it is going to be a favourite for many years. We had some professional photos taken back in January of this year by the lovely Bria Hurst of Kontour Photography. I am in love with them all but this would have to be my favourite picture of them all. I printed this photo out on my Canon Selphy which was my Birthday gift to myself last year. When I have some time I will do a review on it for you all.

Anyway onto the gorgeousness…..

OMG!! I fall in love with it just a little bit more each time I look at it. It’s so simple, but striking.

Most of this LO is created with January Hip Kits. The base is from an old Stampin’ Up! Speciality Designer Series. It is an emboss resist paper with a lovely scallop pattern. I just sprayed some Mr Huey’s inks onto it- Boss Lady, Cameo, Mary Mary and Gold. They were the closest colour I had that suited the paper behind the photo. I had a little trouble balancing out the black tag on the top left but I had to have it. I didn’t want to use the black, clean cut and patterned scallop border to balance it as it was not in theme with the remainder of the layout but leaving the white border around the feathers and the word ‘beautiful’ helped it tie in. I did cut the white from the butterfly and flowers as they ‘popping’ too much off the page

I have some more of these photos to scrap so keep tuned.

Some close ups

I tried to get a good close up of the gold ink, but the light was not in my favour. I hope this has been of interest and helpful in your own scrapping adventures.

Silhouette Goodness!

Hello everyone,

I have a gorgeous creation to share. Admittedly I created this for last years Christmas in the Country Craft Show, I just ran out of time to share with you all.

Anyone who owns an electronic cutting machine will know about SVGCUTS. It is my absolute favourite place to go for beautiful projects. Mary and her team are very clever and I love all they create. The one I am going to share with you is from the Country Market collection and its so darn cute!

I made three but only showing two as I never took photos of the third one complete. The first one I think is my favourite….what do you think?

SVGCUTS also have a Facebook page where you can share your creations, see other people’s beautiful work and get all the latest updates. Definitely worth checking out.

I am doing some project life and have realised I have never shared any of that with you. Might have to do something about that.

Hello everyone,

How exciting!

I have been a keen Project Lifer for close to two years now, and I cannot express enough how much I love this form of scrapbooking. As you are aware from my “About Me” description in the side bar. I am very, very, very behind in my scrapbooking, but since starting Project Life I have actually managed to keep up with all my photos with this easy to use, easy to decorate system.

Here is a sneak peek of one of the kits,

There are of course matching accessories and photopolymer stamps, with of course the tools required to create pages, including pocket pages, dies, journaling pens and a corner punch.

I will be starting Project Life classes from home, sharing my passion and love of my favourite product, Stampin’ Up! If you would like to come along and create your own Project Life page then contact me to find out dates for upcoming workshops in July. Contact details are in my sidebar, you can choose to call or email me.

Festive Friday Challenge #30

Hello everyone,

It’s Festive Friday Challenge time, and this round is a sketch. I do apologise for getting this up late, but it has been a very hectic week……month, actually. I must also say that I was quite ill when I made this card and I don’t think I should do that again! LOL!

Here is my submission

I used the Letter’s to Santa DSP quite heavily and matched it with the Merry and Type stamp set. I dyed my hemp twine with Early Espresso ink. I wanted this to look a little more vintage and I used the distressing kit with the Tea Stain ink in it. I rubbed it over all pieces of cardstock using the rubber stamp block in the kit.

Don’t forget to head over to the Festive Friday Challenge blog and play along. I would love to see what you create with this sketch.

Festive Friday Challenge #28

Hello everyone!

It’s time for another Festive Friday Challenge. This week it is an inspiration challenge. Here is the pic

and here is my submission

As you can see I took inspiration from the big giant baubles, particularly the glittery one in the back. I wanted to keep it CAS, with minimal layering. I think I did well. The bauble looks great and I used some of the Lucky Limeade bakers twine to embellish. I used the tree stamp out of Loads of Love to create the Christmas tree branch. I also used the Welcome Christmas stamp set to finish the card off, the tree trimming image suiting perfectly.

Well I hope you find time to join along with us this week, as it’s great to see what other people take from inspiration pics with limited possibilities, and they create something so different to the person before them. You just have to look at the DT’s creations to see that. They are all so different but I can see where they have drawn inspiration. They are so awesome!! LOL!

Up in The Air

Hello everyone!

Another retreat card to share. Are you sick of them yet?! LOL! This was another challenge card. the challenge was make a card with butterflies and bling. Love that combo so that really wasn’t a hard challenge.

I used a couple of different stamp sets, Elementary Elegance, French Foliage and Up in The Air. The main image is from Up in The Air, though. After completing the card I thought it would have looked better if I did the flowers in Wisteria Wonder and the butterlies in Concord Crush. But that’s okay, I still like it.

Birthday Treats!!

It was my sweet girl, Akayla’s Birthday on the second of December, and she loves everything pretty, and so do I. That’s why I have lots of fun making her card and wrapping her goodies. A very pink and green girl to! Loves a princess or two also! LOL!

Oohhh I love those colours. I used Regal Rose, Pear Pizzazz and Very Vanilla, with a little Early Espresso. Oh and the bow is Pretty in Pink 5/8″ Satin Ribbon.

The stamp sets used are Array of Sunshine and Happiest Birthday Wishes. Both sets are found in the hostess section of the Stampin’ Up! catalogue. They are both gorgeous sets and worth having.

Here are some pics of the nights festivities

So that’s another year done. I wish it would slow down, my babies are growing up too quickly. My youngest starts Prep next year and I am just not looking forward to being by myself with no one to entertain. I suppose after a couple of weeks of twiddling my thumbs I will find heaps to do……maybe even card making!! LOL!
