Inkspirations Challenge #63

Hey everyone!

It’s Inkspiration time, and this time it is a sketch. I had a lot of fun with this one. Maybe it’s because I got to ink up some new rubbah! LOL! Tonight people, I am giving you a sneak peek at a stamp set that will be soon released on April 1st in the new Autumn\Winter Mini. I absolutely adore this SS and the coordinating DSP. I haven’t used the DSP on this card but I am sure in no time I will have it all consumed and I will be buying some more.

I haven’t played with the cracked glass technique in a while so I thought I would with this challenge as there is a panel on the sketch that is perfect for this technique. I love, love, LOVE this technique. Take a look at the sketch-

The colours were selected from the Colour Coach. Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler and Baja Breeze. I added the Dynamic Duo, Basic Grey as well. There is also a teeny bit of Perfect Plum as I needed a fifth colour. Can you spot it? LOL!

A little close up of the cracked glass panel. After cracking the panel I like to rub some ink over it. It gets caught in the cracks and gives them more emphasis. Now my panel does look a little yellow but that is because I sponged Crumb Cake ink over the panel before clear embossing. It looks a little like I have burnt the embossing, doesn’t it?! Oh well you live and learn! LOL! The three panels behind were stamped randomly  then spritzed with Basic Black. I love this tool. I find I am using it a lot lately.

Well I hope I have inspired you to create and have a play with this weeks Inkspiration challenge and I hope to see your submission soon.

Dare to be Fabulous!

Hey everyone!

Well yesterday I said that I would do some baking and then some crafting! Well unfortunately my mixer is on the fritz so that meant I had all day to craft! So far I have only managed one card. But I love it!

Doesn’t it just hit you right in the face! LOL! I know I have used some retired product, but I felt that these suited this card perfectly. The sentiment is from the Fabulous Flowers set which of course is retired but I think it and the medallion were made for each other. LOL! I also used the Baja Breeze corduroy brad but the ribbon is still in vogue! I made the scallop edge by punching a few 3/4″ circles. I love the larger scallop look! What do you think?

You may be wondering what the funny looking lines are….well I had a play with the cracked glass technique. This is where you do layer upon layer of clear embossing over the top of the stamped image. I have done about seven layers using the SU Clear embossing powder. I then placed it in the freezer for a few minutes, pull it out and then bend the card to ‘crack’ the embossing. After cracking it a few times I then used a sponge to wipe Soft Suede ink all over the cracks. This shows the cracks more clearly.

I plan on making some more cards this evening in between cooking a roast dinner. So best be going!
