Festive Friday Challenge #32

Hello everyone,

Time for another Festive Friday Challenge. This round is a Father’s Day Special, mixed with the challenge of using brads as the focal point. I think I did okay, I struggled with it a little. Usually when doing something manly I don’t think brads, but I like what I cane up with.

I used the Best Dad Ever stamp set, and matched it up with the Just Add Cake and Well Worn DSP’s. The colours I used are Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla. The middle tie is full of polka dots and I used the silver Mini Brads in place of them. After making this card I think it would have been more effective if I popped that one tie on dimensionals to stand out and look more 3D. I love the aged look of this card too. I just sponged some Soft Suede around the edges of the main panel and the Wild Wasabi DSP.

I hope you get a chance to play along this week, I would love to see what you create.

Thanks for dropping by!

First Play with Open Sea

Hello everyone!

Here is another card from my little retreat weekend. I also got to have my first play with the stamp set Open Sea. This set is just gorgeous for the adult male and I think I will be hanging on to this one, even after it retires.

This wasn’t a challenge, but I did use my Colour Coach to help me pick a combo. Have I told you before I love this tool

It has all the colour collections from Stampin’ Up! minus the In colors. You can buy these to add to the coach if you like.  It is a great tool to help give you inspiration or help you pick a complimentary colour for the one you have already chosen. It also tells what each colour Dynamic Duo is. It gives two combos per colour, so that is 80 colour combos 100 if you add the In color chips. See endless creating with perfect colour combos.

Anyway, I will be back again soon to share more cards with you.

Inkspiration Challenge #56

Hey everyone!

Another fabulous challenge this week! They are fabulous colour. Two of them are my fave, Baja Breeze and Cherry Cobbler. At first I wasn’t sure what I would create a very nice male card with Extreme Elements, but Instead I played with a stamp set I was yet to ink up! Yep that’s right I still have a few of them! LOL!

Here is my creation

I like this one a lot! It’s simple but I find it quite striking……and Oh My Gosh!….. look at all that white space! LOL! I just had to back it up with some sponging to the Cherry Cobbler and Baja Breeze though!

I dazzled diamond the top cake layer and ‘glazed’ the cherry with some Crystal Effects for the extra WOW factor. The buckle is just made with cardstock and some circle and scallop punching, I layered it all together and tied the bow in the centre.

Go to the Inkspirations Challenge blog to see the rest of the DT creations and of course to submit your card so we can see what you have created

Just For You!

Hey everyone!

I have had a wonderful weekend. I caught up with some family, namely David’s parents who I might add we haven’t seen for a couple of months. I know, I know….very bad!!! We also reorganised some of the house and OMG!!! Can you believe it…….I made some projects and blogged them! Are you in SHOCK?? I know I am! LOL!

I just thought I would show you a card I made for David’s Dad for Father’s Day. It’s a bit late…..but hey, it’s here!

As you can see a very simple design, but there’s something I like about it! Maybe it’s the fact that I have made a male card…LOL!
