Wild about you!

I’m wild about this set! It’s so cute, don’t you think?! The cute little elephant and pretty little giraffe. So easy to use and just soooo cute! ( I think I may have already said that….lol) I suppose being a mum with little toddlers, I’m being swayed in that direction. But I think it’s because I’m constantly looking at cute (oops there’s that word again) little boy outfits with animals or bugs on them.

Here is a simple and quick card I did in about 6 minutes. Not a lot involved so anyone can do it.

  • Stamp Set– Wild About You.
  • Cardstock– Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky and Very Vanilla
  • Ink– Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa and Soft Sky
  • Accessories– Very Vanilla Ribbon.
  • Tools– Cuttlebug, Word Window Punch, Dimensionals, Scissors and Tape.

I just got the Swiss Dot Cuttlebug embossing folder today, along with 2 others- Swirls and Branches. I really love these things. They give your layout so much more oomph without over doing it.

I made the grass by just making cuts very close together with some scissors and then nipped them at different levels and bent them to make it look like grass. I also dimensionaled the lion with a shadow behind him to give him depth.

Have to go now….Promised the kids I would take them to the Park and I always keep my word…….most of the time.

Thanks for dropping by!

Late night antics!

Last night after I put up my last post I went round to visit my friend (who also happens to be my upline), Theresa. We haven’t got together to stamp for a while and thought why the hell not….lets do it! We had some catching up to do on whats been happening in our lives. So we made a card each and chatted up a storm……LOL! I think I actually laugh more than I talk.

We both got on to Splitcoast Stampers for some inspiration. I brought along the Priceless Set and that is what we ended up working with.

My card is fairly simple. The top half is inspired from the Splitcoast site from a cardmaker with the username maryetim, and the bottom half I thought of all by my wee self. I just hand drew the wave cut it out and tucked it under the blue cardstock. I then just poked holes through the white cardstock following the wave as a guide.

  • Stamp Set– Priceless and Sincere Salutations
  • Cardstock– Cool Caribbean, So Saffron and Whisper White
  • Ink– Cool Caribbean
  • Accessories– So Saffron Ribbon
  • Tools– Mat Pack, Scallop Punch, Scissors, Dimensionals and Tape.

It is such a fresh and clean look, these three colours always do that for me. I really do love that particular blue (last years in colour). Probably means I should use it more…..but I could just imagine what Baja Breeze would look like as well. Sensational! Now I can’t wait to get it here in OZ.

I should be receiving a delivery today of all the new SU stuff that I ordered. I cannot wait to get my hands on it. Just imagine the pure works of art I will be uploading with my new punches and ribbons not to mention the stamps! Well here’s hoping they will be works of art anyway….LOL

Thanks for coming by!

Very Pretty in Pink!

I have had such a busy day today. I have decided for the first time ever to be part of a swap. In this case a card swap. This particular one is based on ‘make and take’. Which are just quick and easy cards you would demonstrate at a workshop. I didn’t mind what I came up with but that is not what I am posting up today, I will save that for later when I receive all the other ladies works of art.

What I did do afterwards was a beautiful, sweet and simple baby girl card.

The photo is a little yellow, lighting was horrible, but you get the general idea. I also had another play with the Cuttlebug. This folder is one that I just got recently.

  • Stamp Set– Nursery Necessities
  • Cardstock– Regal Rose, Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink
  • Ink– Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose
  • Accessories– Regal Rose Ribbon, Cuttlebug
  • Tools– Mat Pack, Oval punch, Dimensionals and Tape

I did the “Rock and Roll” method/technique with the elephant and then dimensionaled him up. He just was not sticking out just inked in Pretty in Pink. I also tried to put on some Silver Hodgepodge Hardware and it just would not work……maybe I just chose the wrong piece but that got thrown to the side and out came the ever so reliable Regal Rose Ribbon. I just love the colour of this ribbon, Mmmmmmm….so luxurious!

I punched the sentiment out with the Oval Punch and then cut off the long edges. The end result was something that looks like the Window Word punch ( one that will be coming in the mail tomorrow…. yippee), matted it then dimensionaled. I do like the end result. Now I just have to wait til someone has a bouncing baby girl and I can send it to them……you never know might end up giving to myself. By the way that is NOT funny.

Thanks for coming by!

P.S Have uploaded new photo! Much Better.

Priceless fun…

Well I have been a very busy little girl the last few days. Thursday I took the kids to Toowoomba and met up with some friends to see Max and Millie from the Barnyard Show on ABC. That was at 10am, then we all piled back in our cars and had lunch together at McDonald’s. I then took an SU order over to my hubby’s work and had a chat (I always do…just can’t help myself). Then we flew over to K-Mart and had some photos taken with Pixie Photo. They have just gone digital and offered me a free sitting with a free 10″ x 13″ portrait. Not only that they also have changed their style. More freestyle (which I love) and none of those ugly little suitcases and hideous coloured backgrounds which are really hard to scrap. Some of you know exactly what I mean… LOL. It was one busy day but the kids had fun and I finally got photos of all my four children together.

Well on to business….. of sorts. I am still playing with Christmas card designs. I just bought the Crazy for Christmas set so I pulled it out and done some quick easy ones. My idea for the deisign came from the catalogue. It is such a good source of inspiration. I find myself looking at it heaps.

I liked it so much I did two versions, one portrait and the other landscape. I chose my own colours and wanted to do something a little different to traditional.

  • Stamp Set– Crazy for Christmas
  • Cardstock– Sahara Sand, Purely Pomegranate  and Soft Sky
  • Ink– Purely Pomegranate, Soft Sky, Sahara Sand and Staz-on Black
  • Accessories– Purely Pomegranate and Sft Sky Double Stitched Ribbon
  • Tools– Stamp-a-ma-jig, Mat Pack and Tape

Isn’t it just and adorable cute?!

By the time I have finished playing with Christmas card designs and choosing which will be this years card I will have enough to post to all friends and family…LOL. I hope you are not sick of seeing them yet as my Mum is coming over one day soon to do her cards to so I will have more to show and tell soon.

Since I was on such a wonderful flow I thought I would do some more. I wanted to do something with a set I haven’t used yet. There was, surprisingly enough, heaps to choose from. I better get my act together hey?! (Don’t answer that Kolina) I ended up choosing the Priceless Set.

Once that was done though I went blank and couldn’t come up with any ideas. So I went looking on the Splitcoast Stampers site for inspiration. If you are ever stuck for and idea this is a great place to go. A lot of talented people are on this site.

Oh my God! There was heaps and heaps of cards done with the Priceless Set. 2572 to be exact! They were all amazing. How could I choose, but then one really caught my eye. They were colours I haven’t as yet used together and very well put together. I totally CASED it. Couple things I used were different but still the same idea.

  • Stamp Set– Priceless and Spring Solitude
  • Cardstock– Sage Shadow, Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip
  • Ink– Chocolate Chip and Sage Shadow
  • Accessories– Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon
  • Tools– Cuttlebug, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Dimensionals, Mat Pack and Tape.

If you do look at the other one you will see the subtle differences, different stamp, ribbon and cuttle bug die and my card sizes are definitely different.

A couple of posts ago I mentioned that I have done some scrapping. I know, I know, I haven’t posted them up yet. Well here’s the thing. My smaller lens attachment has been dropped on its head by the kids and it is totally ruined. The only thing for it now is the bin….BUGGER! So all my photos are being taken with my telephoto lens (55-200mm). It’s doing a very good job, don’t you think?

You should of seen me the other day standing on the kitchen table with my layouts on the floor and I still couldn’t fit them in. (not forgetting I only do double pages) Hubby may have thought I might be trying out a new job of tabletop dancing…LOL For all the good I was actually doing I may of well as been.

So as soon as I get a new lens (or a new camera) I will have some pages up. Then the barrage of abuse I receive from my friends will be abated….LOL You know I love you girls!

Thanks for dropping by!

Christmas is coming!

That’s right not long now and we will be singing carols and wrapping gifts and then promptly unwrapping them…LOL. The hardest thing for us, and probably everyone else, is when family members are interstate. The way postage rates are these days you have to be careful how big or heavy the gift is you purchase for them. Not only that you are not even sure if they will like, or use, the gift. Some people are just real hard to buy for. I’m sure a lot of you know what I’m talking about. Well thanks to Kristina Werner, she has a fabulous idea. Gift card holders!!!

They were heaps of fun to make and SUPER easy to put together. Kristina has a link to a pdf file for the template to make these little babies.

  • Stamp Set– Season of Joy.
  • Cardstock– Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand, Bravo Burgundy, Old Olive and Basic Grey PP.
  • Ink– Old Olive, Ruby Red and Sahara Sand
  • Accessories– Brads, Bravo Burgundy and Very Vanilla Ribbon
  • Tools– Cuttlebug and Christmas Bauble die, Oval Punch, Scissors and tape

I had heaps of fun making these. I might even make more. Just for those people who like music and I have no idea who they like. I will pop into Sanity or the like and purchase some gift cards. My sisters and brother would love it. It’s all too embarrassing when you ask, “What would you like for Chrissy?”, because you are struggling to remember who they “into” at the time. And that can change at any time with teenagers….LOL You know what I mean don’t you!.

I luurve my Cuttlebug. Since I also have the Cricut I only use the Cuttlebug with the embossing folders. They have some of the most fabulous designs, especially the Christmas ones. I recommend it to anyone. It is so simple to use for such a wonderful effect. But I must admit I haven’t used it much of late and will have to do some more.

So of course I did something quick and easy. I made a card , a very simple card, which I think turned out quite nice. Sometimes less is more. I used three colours, one stamp and one ribbon….oh and not forgetting the Cuttlebug!

  • Stamp Set– Season of Joy
  • Cardstock– Whisper White, Real Red and Wild Wasabi
  • Ink– Real Red and Wild Wasabi
  • Accessories– Wild Wasabi double stitch ribbon
  • Tools– Cuttlebug and Christmas Bauble Die, Scissors and Tape

Well that’s me for today. I will be back though with something new I’m sure. Another Kwerner challenge is coming up soon….LOL I love those Colour Inspirations, they are so much fun!

Thanks for dropping by!

What FUN!

I haven’t posted any work for a few days now, which I apologise for….BUT I’ll have something for you very soon I promise. A little hint though- It’s for Christmas. Can’t tell you anymore. It will spoil the surprise.

But I did have a fabulous weekend. We (being my hubby and kids) went for a drive, I know that sounds boring, but we love to go on our drives, it’s very relaxing and it’s our time to be together and enjoy each other.

I wanted to share with you the fabulous photos I had taken on our day. We went to one of our favourite spots, Springbrook, on the Gold Coast Hinterland. It is such a beautiful place, I recommend it to anyone. The kids will love it and always remember it. I know because mine don’t stop talking about it…LOL

My little boys feet in the rock pool. How cooling it was!

  My little boy

What a sight! These falls are enormous.

Sean, Jemma and Akayla having a ball.

Another beautiful waterfall.

There is so many more photos of course, but I would be here uploading all day! LOL. We had such a wonderful time. The kids are asking when we can go again. I’m hoping I will have these photos scrapped sooner rather than later. Speaking of scrapping, I think I told you all that I was going scrapping at the shop last Thursday night. Well you won’t believe it! I made it there and managed to do two double layouts. Yes that’s right two! Well one needs some journalling done but I’m still counting it……you can’t stop me! lol.

I will post them up soon just to prove that I still do scrap.

Thanks for coming by!

Colour Throwdown #11

I missed last weeks Colour Throwdown just like I missed the Kwerner Color Inspiration. Well I missed the deadline for it anyway!! Things are different this week I’m on top of things again ( I wonder for how long!), so there is no disappointment and this week I have done something a little different. Don’t tell anyone but I didn’t use a SU Stamp…LOL. I pulled out the acrylic stamps I have hidden away for my scrapping. They haven’t had a work out for quite a while. I also used Tempting Turquoise instead of Baja Breeze.

There is also another reason I did this card, We have some friends expecting, next month, their own little bundle of joy apparently a son, if that changes I will change the colours and use a giraffe instead.

  • Stamp Set– Autumn Leaves Mindy’s Zoo and Nursery Necessities.
  • Cardstock– Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise and Very Vanilla
  • Ink– Chocolate Chip
  • Accessories– Tempting Turquoise Ribbon and brads
  • Tools– Oval Punch, Wonder Crayons Earth Elements, Aqua Pen, Craft Knife, Scissors, Dimensionals and Tape.

I had to hand cut the scallop edge as it’s not in OZ yet with Stampin up. There is a Fiskars one you can purchase, but I think I will wait. I hear on the grapevine it will be available in December for us in the Mini Catalogue.

(Yippee) I must admit I’m still trying to get the hang of the water pen. I have a few streaks here and there maybe a blotch or two….LOL. But I don’t mind it. Gives it character!

I dimensionaled the lion, the frame around him and the sentiment on the ribbon. The brads unfortunately were an afterthought as you can probably tell…Oh well! But I like it and so will the people receiving it! Not too mention I might have to make different one anyway! (you know, the girl colours… lol)

Thanks for dropping by and will see you again soon! (no doubt you will I’m scrapping tonight for the first time in four weeks……OH MY GOD!)

Another One…

Well I just couldn’t help myself….the endless opportunities with this colour combo was screaming at me, even when I went to bed last night. Needless to say I didn’t get much sleep. So again here is the challenge

ci8And here is my card

It turned out soft and feminine as I had hoped. I was going to use the Chocolate Chip Ribbon but found it was too much brown, so Bravo Burgundy it was.

  • Stamp Set– Both Way Blossoms and Baroque Motifs
  • Cardstock– So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Very Vanilla
  • Ink– Chocolate Chip
  • Accessories– Bravo Burgundy, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and So Saffron Markers, Pastels and Bravo Burgundy Ribbon
  • Tools– Oval Punch, Scissors and Tape

I cannot wait to get the scallop punch here in OZ, so for the time being I hand cut the scallop border.

I finally used the hostess set I received last year (both way blossoms), it is such a beautiful set. This stamp in particular looks great with these colours. Can you imagine what it would look like with a soft subtle purple. It would remind me of Agapanthas. How about you?

I hope you like my end result, because I’m pretty happy with it! (for a change) Thanks for dropping by!

Kwerner Colour Inspiration #23

ci9Here it is! Another beautiful Kwerner CI. And don’t the colours just reek Autumn. I love the colours of Autumn, the deep reds, the bright yellows and warm browns. I had fun with these colours and will probably do some more cards in these colours. This is my first attempt-

It’s not a brilliant photo as I took it at night ( I couldn’t wait to upload) If you couldn’t tell already my base is Chocolate Chip. I might take another photo tomorrow and replace it. The colours in this challenge really suit the Spring Solitude Set. Even though the name contradicts what I said before…LOL.

  • Stamp Set– Spring Solitude and Sweet Serendipity
  • Cardstock– Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron and Very Vanilla
  • Ink– Old Olive, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip
  • Tools– Bravo Burgundy Marker, Dimensionals, Oval Punch, Mat Pack, Scissors and Tape

I know I did it again! I just Can’t help it. I love to cut things out and layer them. 90% of my cards are done that way.  I love the effect it has on layouts.

I did some second and third generation stamping around the edges as a border. I stamped the bird, twig, leaves and flower on another piece of Vanilla and cut them out and used dimensionals to ‘pop’ them.

I will be doing another card and I will upload it tomorrow. I might even use the same Stamp Set. I like it that much…If you recall I used it on my last CI. LOL

Thanks for looking!

Sleepy Sunday!

Even though I was all geeed up for today and thought I would get heaps done and make lots of wonderful cards…….. well guess what?! I did no housework, watched a couple of movies and made two cards! So far anyway.

At the moment I’m playing with ideas on invites for my youngest son Darcy’s Birthday. I like the Ahoy Matey Set and pulled it out for a play.

The colour combo I got from one of Kristina Werners old Colour Inspirations.

  • Stamp Set– Ahoy Matey, Matey’s Map Wheel and Sanded BG
  • Cardstock– Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White.4
  • Tools– Wheel Guide, Scissors, Aqua Pen, Black Pen and Earth Elements Wonder Crayons.

It opens by flipping the tab up and pulling down the bottom like you do a letter. I like the design but might

change the colours. Has anyone got suggestions? Please leave comments on what colours you would use…..

But on to my next card. I just have to get myself organised and get my Christmas cards done and ready to post. I had a play today with a card, again using another old Kwerner CI challenge. I also pulled out the Pretties kit again, but did use for the first time the new Satin Ribbon in Purley Pomegranate. That ribbon is so luscious Mmmmmmmm…..dribble…….drool… and dribble some more. As you can tell I really like it. I also don’t mind how this card turned out.

  • Stamp Set– Baroque Motifs and Sweet Serendipity
  • Cardstock– Purely Pomegranate, Regal Rose and River Rock
  • Ink– River Rock and Purely Pomegranate.
  • Accessories– Purely Pomegranate Satin Ribbon and Pearls
  • Tools– Scallop Punch, Circle Punch, Oval Punch, Dimensionals and Tape

It’s a little different to the normal, but you know how it is, you always try to do something new and different. I think my mum would like this card very much so it will be given to her this year.

Anyway thanks for dropping by today to see my goodies and I hope you had a great weekend!
