UStamp Hey Bigshot Project #2

Hey everyone!

My other UStamp project went live today on the Hey BigShot session! I liked this project quite a lot as it was quick and easy. Don’t we all love just quick and easy?? I know with my time restrictions on creating time limits my size of projects. This one took about 40 minutes to put together. With less decoration you can put it together much faster!

It is my Top Note Gift Wallet. Isn’t it cute??

If you would like to know how to make this go to UStamp and join. When you do you will be able to access a heap of projects specially designed for the Big Shot just like this one. There are also a heap of challenges with prizes. Not to mention all the chatting you will most likely get up to in the chat room! LOL!

See you there!

An Upsy Daisy CASE!

Hey everyone!

I was on Stampin’ Connection the other day {this is a brand new fabulous place for Stampin’ Up! demos to discuss and share all things SU} and I came across a card made by Claire Daly. I am not sure if it is on her blog so I cannot directly link you to Claire’s creation. I used the same colours, stamp and style but with a couple of my own tweaks. I instantly feel in love with it and Claire’s style appeals to me in a lot of ways but really she is just a gorgeous person who makes the most beautiful cards. I wonder what else I can CASE! I have a few saved to my faveourites…even ones made with stamp sets I don’t own……yet!! LOL! Thanks Claire!

I used the spritzer with the old olive marker on coordinating CS and the Regal Rose marker over the top of the daisies. I really like the effect. I also used the markers to colour in the stamp so I could have more than one colour in the image.

I used one of the labels out of the 4set label dies and embossed the sentiment in white embossing powder. I have a thing for embossing powder recently so much so that I might need to top up again soon! Same with Cardstock I am depleting my stocks at an alarming rate…..but I have an awesome advantage of being able to purchase my goodies at a generous 20% off . Would you like the same deal?!

  • Imagine being able to purchase beautiful SU product at demonstrator cost
  • Imagine earning $ to help pay for your hobby, bills or even that holiday you wanted
  • Imagine being able to meet and become great friends with like minded crafters at events such as Convention or Regionals.
  • Imagine running a business on your own terms, doing as much or as little as you like when you like to fit in your schedule as a part-time worker or mother or both.

The timing couldn’t be better either because at the moment Stampin’ Up! are having a fabulous starter kit promotion. Valued at over $560, and sold at the usual price of $324 is now reduced to $259. That’s a whopping 20%off and it is all you need to pay to become a part of the Stampin’ Up! family and to receive the awesome starter kit. You will also become part of my team where we have regular team get togethers and stamping sessions. I can help you with anything you might need or any advice to get you started.

You can contact me today via email or you can join straight away by going to my Stampin’ Up! business website. All you will need is

  • An ABN {free from the tax office}
  • Credit Card details
  • Personal Information
  • my password – brownstamp

I look forward to you becoming a part of the Stampin’ Up! family!

Thanks for dropping by!

Dare to be Fabulous!

Hey everyone!

Well yesterday I said that I would do some baking and then some crafting! Well unfortunately my mixer is on the fritz so that meant I had all day to craft! So far I have only managed one card. But I love it!

Doesn’t it just hit you right in the face! LOL! I know I have used some retired product, but I felt that these suited this card perfectly. The sentiment is from the Fabulous Flowers set which of course is retired but I think it and the medallion were made for each other. LOL! I also used the Baja Breeze corduroy brad but the ribbon is still in vogue! I made the scallop edge by punching a few 3/4″ circles. I love the larger scallop look! What do you think?

You may be wondering what the funny looking lines are….well I had a play with the cracked glass technique. This is where you do layer upon layer of clear embossing over the top of the stamped image. I have done about seven layers using the SU Clear embossing powder. I then placed it in the freezer for a few minutes, pull it out and then bend the card to ‘crack’ the embossing. After cracking it a few times I then used a sponge to wipe Soft Suede ink all over the cracks. This shows the cracks more clearly.

I plan on making some more cards this evening in between cooking a roast dinner. So best be going!

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #25

Hey everyone!

It is time for an Inkspiration Challenge! It feels like I haven’t done one in months. I think it’s because so much has happened in the past two weeks. But OOhhhhh what FUN it was!! I am in super excited mode and I’m lovin’ it! LOL!

This weekend I have a plan! The plan is to do some baking……and then spend the rest on doing some different cards……I say different because I have realised that I have been doing the same sort of card for a very long time….you know the one where I just stamp an image or two and I’m done….I find I am not branching out and trying new techniques. What I want you guys to do is leave for me in the comment section {or email, whatever is easiest} a technique you would like to see me do! Preferably something I haven’t done before or even something I haven’t done in ages. Don’t be shy….I’m up for anything……within reason!! LOL!! I might even have a gift for the best suggestion!

Anyway onto this weeks Inkspiration

I of course reached for the stamp set I usually go for {hence the challenge}, but you have to admit I get good use of it. I just can’t help thinking that a lot of my other sets are getting ignored.

  • Stamp Set- Petal Pizzazz, On Your Birthday, Cheep Talk
  • Cardstock- Melon Mambo, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla
  • Ink– Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron
  • Accessories– Melon Mambo Ribbon, Pumpkin Pie Button, Build-A-Brad, Clear Rhinestones, Dimensionals, 1/2″ Circle Punch

I did however do something I haven’t done before and that is one of Teneale’s fabulous faux bows. How did I do? Does it pass?  I think my tails are a little long, but not bad for my first attempt!

Keesh has a huge announcement over on her blog about the changes that will be happening to the Inkspiration challenges. I think you are gonna like the changes A LOT!!!! So get on over there and check it out!

Don’t forget to check out the rest of the DT too!

Cindy

Renee

Chantelle

Sarah-Jane

Teneale

Makeesha

Anyhoo! I look forward to your suggestions on a technique you would like me to do.

More Convention News!

Hey everyone!

I have a super long post for you today with lots of pics! Just to let you know we had a fabulous nights sleep last night….no fire alarms….. unless of course I may have slept through that! LOL! I was tired.

First I am going to show you a couple of shots of the fabulous fireworks display that was right outside our penthouse floor apartment window!

There is a live Jazz Festival happening here for three days so we have some fab music to listen to as well!

Here are some piccy’s of some ultra fab friends…..part of the Inspirations DT…….please excuse my very stupid pose! LOL! But aren’t Teneale and Sarah-Jane just gorgeous! I have made some wonderful stamping friends in those two! {sorry about the poor photo too}.

Of course the gorgeous Sarah Klass! I have made mention to Sarah that every convention that we both attend at the same time we are going to have an updated photo and I just love this one!

Of course I couldn’t go past Shelli Gardner when there is a photo opportunity just begging

The next photo is a pic of a woman who continually has me in stitches…..if you know her you will understand!! LOL

I have heaps more but I will show you another time. Next I have some pics of the gifts I gave to my roomies

Of course I have to show one of my other swaps as well

Are you over photos yet??? That will do you today….Hehe!

The effervescent Meges!

The perky Shell!

My glamorous Mum!

My two roomies (in the middle) Wendy and Deb!

I also have some exciting news.

If you were thinking of joining Stampin’ Up! as a demonstrator to receive all the fabulous benefits then NOW is the time!! From today til 31 July you can join SU for just $259……that’s 20% off the regular price!!! How fabulous is that! I am soooo excited! Contact me today if you have any questions!

Okay I thought I would show you one of my other swaps….

I have received some fabulous swaps in return so hang onto your pants and for the next few weeks I will show them all to you!

Okay…..after last nights little dilemma! I am a little tired so I am going to get myself some dinner and get to bed! Okay I will tell you what happened! Last night we were evacuated from our hotel twice…..yes that’s right TWICE for fire alarms! We are on the penthouse level so we had lots of stairs to go down! LOL! The first time was a little funny but the second was just NOT ON!!! One went off at 1.20am and the other 3.20am. The first time I didn’t know what it was and was telling my Mum to turn her blasted phone off! but then someone was yelling that it was the fire alarm. OMG!!!  Why on earth are we on the top level? As it turned out they were both false alarms. We were not happy girls. We had convention, we didn’t want to be sleeping at the tables during someones speech! Sooooo anyway that’s why I am going to bed early!

Thanks for dropping by!

UStamp Project #1

Hey everyone!

I am down here at Sydney in the hotel room super excited about tomorrow morning! I have caught up with quite a few demos and had dinner with the likes of Teneale Williams and Sarah-Jane in Harbourside! But enough of that I am here to show you the UStamp project I have up for this session….and here it is-

I thought I would also show you one of the eight (different designs) swaps I made for convention!!

So there you go! Well I am off to bed! I am so tired and it is a big day tomorrow!! HEHE!

Thanks for dropping by!

The Birthday Boy!

Hey everyone!

I have been a little busy……..actually a whole lot busy! I will be heading for Sydney in two more sleeps and I have not started packing yet! Must get a wriggle on hey?! I am just extremely lucky that Keesh has decided to let this weeks Inkspiration slide and we’ll be back next week with awesome ideas and some exciting news to boot! Don’t you love being kept in suspense? LOL!

Yesterday it was my youngest childs birthday! After everything that has happened so far this year with this youngster it was extra emotional….for me anyway! I cannot speak for anyone else. He has turned three and seems to be three times the trouble of any child I know. But Ohhh how I love him so! This year we decided he was ready for his own bike. For the past year he has been pushing his brothers’ and sister’s bikes around the yard. It was a good hint at what he might have liked anyway. We got him a gorgeous Real Red bicycle and I decided to make a card to match.

Just ignore the mistakes. I had done too much to start again! LOL! How slack am I??! But I was making this card at about 12 midnight the day before his birthday! Nothing like leaving it to the last-minute!

Here are some pics from the day

Isn’t he just the cutest?! Don’t let those baby blues get to you though. He is TROUBLE!! with an extra big capital T! LOL! The candle blowing was extra funny. For some reason he was in a hurry and half way through the ‘Happy Birthday’ song he blew the candles out. The last photo was when we just started singing. Funny fellow….we were all sitting in the dark still singing happy birthday! LOL!

But anyway I hope to take photos of my gifts and swaps today and have them ready to post while I’m away at convention. Or maybe I should start the packing!!! What do you think?
