Inkspiration Challenge #99

Hey everyone!

It’s Inkspiration time! This week it is a sketch challenge and a square one at that.

I Think this would be a perfect scrapbook page LO but I stuck with the card. See I am boring aren’t I?! LOL! It’s just when I saw this design an idea came to me to use that large panel as a patterned scene, like wrapping paper and the three panels can be used for the sentiment.

Have a look

I like how it turned out and also how neutral it is. I used subtle hints of Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz and Pool Party. It looks better close up. For the sentiment I used Cherry Cobbler embossing powder. It makes the card ‘pop’ I love it. I used stamp sets Jolly Bingo Bits and Welcome Christmas.

Hop on over to the Inkspiration Challenge Blog and link to your creation and check out the rest of the DT’s designs.

Inkspiration Chellenge # 97

Hey everyone!

It’s Inkspiration time! This week it is a sketch.

I played with Field Flowers. I hadn’t pulled it out since the last field flowers card I made back in September, not even to experiment. So I thought it was time to pull it out again. I also pulled out my Wonder Crayons and had a play. Of course some made their way to the bin because I wasn’t happy with them but even my favourite one ended in the bin because it suffered an irreversible or hideable markings. It was one step away from being finished too!  I was devastated! LOL

Anyway here’s the fourth attempt!

I stamped the bolder image with the crayons and then the outline image in ink. I love this effect and might play with it some more. Maybe with the Hello Friend set. I think that would fabulous.

Inkspiration Challenge #95

Hey everyone!

I have finally made it back for an Inkspiration Challenge! I bet you were starting to think I quit the DT….lol! Well I only missed two, but it felt a lot longer than that. I reckon it’s because I missed all the comment love I usually get. I love to get an encouraging comment now and then, not to mention when someone admires my work and, my favourite part, that I have inspired them in some way. So I just want to thank all the lovely people for their lovely comments, all 3,625 of them. Yep that’s right, it is that many. I was just checking out my stats today and came across this and it also told me how many posts I have done since starting this here blog (this one included, 502), plus how many subscribers I now have, an amazing 267 people. I am just gobsmacked. I also noticed recently that I broke my record number of hits in one day recently not just once but twice. How super-duper is that. The record is now an amazing 1, 360 I think that is just awesome! Again thank you all for all of your support over the years and the wonderful friendships I have made along the way.  You all are the reason that I am inspired to create and to share the thing I love.

So anyway back to why I am here….an Inkspiration Sketch Challenge –

I am not entirely sure what I wanted the end result to be, lol! My first thought was Shabby Chic with the Kindness Matters SS, but it started out clean and crisp. and the main panel was distressed. So in conclusion I was undecided and ended up mish mashing both styles! LOL!

I used Kindness Matters, French Foliage {love} stamp sets. I stamped the butterflies twice, one for the base and another to cut out, colour a little with a blender pen and then layer onto the first image.  I also used two different DSP’s, one piece of Cajun Craze Patterned DSP and some of the First Edition {another love}. Colours are Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Baja Breeze and Very Vanilla. I don’t mind this combo but I am not entirely sure I pulled it off on this card. You know what ladies…….I must be going through a style change! It’s exactly like when you hit puberty, things are changing, things are looking a little odd, your tastes change and you’re wondering where it’s all heading! So that’s it, the description fits anyway!! LOL!

Inkspiration Challenge #91

Hey everyone!

It’s Inkspiration time! The sketch is pretty simple but suitable for any occasion.

My submission

I thought I would keep it simple and subtle and to have a play with a new stamp that I have had here for a month….Precious Butterflies.

I pulled out my fave circle tool, Circle Scissor Plus to make the two bigger circles and my 3/4″ and 1″ circle punches for the smaller circles. I used colours Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz. A very lovely combo!

Inkspiration Challenge #89

Hey everyone!

I know I am posting this late….lets’ just say I wont be doing a scheduled post ever again! Not only did it not publish but it has disappeared like the last one. I’m not sure what I am doing wrong. I’m pressing all the right buttons. I just think there is some glitch.

But now that I have time to write this post up again I will.

This weeks challenge is a sketch one. I must admit I made a few different cards before I settled on one. Don’t get me wrong the sketch is not hard at all, I was just being super fussy! LOL!

Here is my creation

I drew inspiration from a card I saw at the Melbourne Convention. It was a very simple one layer card and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it.

I used the colours Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler, Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight. I also used Basic Grey for the sentiment.

Don’t forget to check out the Inkspiration Blogspot to submit your creation and have a peek at the rest of the DT’s gorgeous submissions.

Inkspiration Challenge #87

Hey everyone!

It’s Inkspiration time and I am not going to miss this one. I have so much inspiration lying around me in the shape of brand new SU goodies that I have no excuse! lol!

Here’s this weeks sketch

I really like this sketch and found there was a lot of options with this design. So to help me along a little I pulled out what I find to be one of my most useful tools when I need a little push, the Colour Coach. I wanted to use a colour I have trouble using. The first one that came to mind was Always Artichoke. I checked the card out and saw a very interesting combo. Always Artichoke, So Saffron and Cajun Craze. So here is my result-

I really love the end result of this one. I played with my one of my newest SS, My Friend and my newest ribbon, Seam Binding. This stuff is great to tie bows with. So soft and pliable, you will be seeing me use this a lot.

I stamped the leaf image in second generation with both So Saffron and Cajun Craze then I stamped the “Hello” sentiment in Always Artichoke over the top.

Anyway, hop on over to the Inkspiration Challenge Blog to check out the rest of the DT’s designs and to submit your creation for all to share.

I have one more thing to share, it is a pic of my youngest dressed up in a dragon costume but for the purpose of his dress up theme of “Under the Sea” at Kindy he was the Lochness Monster! lol

Inkspirations Challenge #79

Hello everyone!

Before I get started on this weeks challenge particulars, I want to say a HUGE thank you to all my followers and commentors! I have now reached over 200 followers and I am just flabbergasted. It was only just a short time ago that I was giving a card away to the 150th follower. As most of you know my blogging has been….well, a little slim. I hope to turn this around this coming week and start blogging a lot more regularly. Things in my life have been a little difficult of late {I won’t go into particulars as there were quite a few challenges}, and I am starting to turn a new corner. But the support you guys give me boosts my spirits and makes me smile….a lot!

So I will be randomly choosing a subscriber to receive this weeks creation for the Inkspiration challenge. I will let you know the winner tomorrow……see good incentive to post again! LOL!

Okay, this week is a sketch

my submission…

I realised I haven’t played with the owl punch nearly enough, so I pulled it out. Isn’t she just the cutest?!

I have been seeing quite a few cards with circles in the back ground used as accents and I am loving it. Might do some more. More blog post gold! lol!

My Stampin’ Up! colour combo is Regal Rose, Soft Suede and So Saffron. Love this combo for girl birthday cards.

Now there is one more thing I would like to share with you all today. Last week I bought a new pet. He wasn’t an impulse purchase as we {my family} have been discussing it for a while. But we just were not sure what breed we would go with. But when I met this fellow I just had to have him.

So without further ado I introduce you to CHARLIE BROWN!

He is just the sweetest bird. He is hand raised and he gives the softest kisses and nibbles and I think he starting to copy my laugh!! LOL! He is a Rainbow Lorikeet and has the most amazing bright feathers. Under his wings is the most brightest red I think I have ever seen! In this shot he was entertaining us with his dancing on my crafting desk so his head is a little blurry. When I have some better pics I will post them.

Anyhoo! Don’t forget to check out the rest of the DT and post your submission over at the Inkspirations Challenge Blog. I would love to see what you have created.

Inkspirations Challenge #77

Hey everyone!

It’s Inkspiration time! unfortunately my crafting has not ‘got the flow’ if you know what I mean……probably not so let me explain. When I start a card I don’t always have the end result in my head. It starts with a colour or stamp set. Gradually different ideas form as I work as I think what would suit the look I want and also the element that would make the card ‘pop’. Some very good elements and accents come out of this process. This is what I mean about missing mojo. You may have heard me mention about this before. So at this moment that flow is not happening and I get stuck on things and I now rush the card to get it finished in time for deadlines {which I think I was late for anyway….bugger!}. Oh well! Hopefully it will come back to me. Wish me luck! LOL!

Okay so the sketch for this week is

and my submission

I don’t know I am just not feelin’ it! It’s a nice enough card but I know it’s not the best I could do with it! LOL!

It is our neighbours sons 1st birthday this weekend, hence the theme. I am sure they will love it.

I glittered the dragonflies wings with dazzling diamonds and made the red beetle nice and shiny with crystal effects! They were meant to make the card ‘pop’…LOL!

Inkspirations Challenge #75

Hello everyone!

It’s sketch time this week at Inkspirations and I decided to create my daughters 10th birthday card with it. On this card I wanted to incorporate this gorgeous little creation that I saw on Sarah-Jane Kale’s blog. I loved the little dress so much I used the same DSP to create it.

I am so in love with this card right now and so is my daughter. Thanks Sarah-Jane, I love your work!

The number 10 is Perfect Plum CS covered in Crystal Effects and while still wet I sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds. Pretty cute huh?

I Used three stamp sets and one BG stamp. Sew Suite, French Foliage, Bring on the Cake and Medallion. I know, a weird combo right?! But I think it has worked well. The only thing I would probably do different is the sentiment. I think it would look nicer in Perfect Plum. What do you think?

Inkspiration Challenge #73

Hey everyone!

It’s Inkspiration time! This week is a sketch and it is super easy…..but then again they all are. It’s the choice of stamp sets and colours that’s the hard bit! LOL!

The sketch –

So many possibilities isn’t there?! This week though I made a purchase that’s been a long time coming. My new SS is French Foliage. It’s all Teneale Williams fault!!! LOL! I saw this CARD and it inspired me so much I bought the SS and then CASEd her gorgeous card. Thanks Teneale!

I used the colours More Mustard, Early Espresso and Bravo Burgundy for my inking, very Autumny…don’t you think? Did you notice I used a bevelled window pane? I won a pack at convention {amongst other goodies}, so I decided to pull them out and have a play.

The More Mustard panel was sponged with More Mustard, Bravo Burgundy and Early Espresso and also stamped with two leaf types and  the splotches. The image panel started as Very Vanilla. The leaf was inked up in More Mustard, then I daubed Bravo Burgundy and Early Espresso on the edges for different colour graduations in the leaf. The sentiment is out of a current hostess set Because I Care {another set that Ten has me thinking about…LOL!}

I would have loved to use the Autumn Spice DSP, but I have none….YET! Instead I used the Woodland Walk DSP, which I think fits nicely representing bark.

Anyhoo, check out the rest of the DT and submit your creation at the Inkspiration Challenge Blog!
