Celebrate Today!

Hello everyone,

I have participated in a Sketch Challenge that is from a little crafting group I am a part of on Facebook.

Here is the sketch

Sketch Challenge

I don’t do square cards very often, so this was a welcome change. Another requirement in the challenge was it that it had to be a Baby card. Which again is something I don’t do very often.

Here is the end result.

Celebrate Today, Baby Card

My colour combination is Night of Navy, Tangerine Tango, Pool Party and Gold. I like this combo and may create another. I envision butterflies on that one.

I used the Bravo Stamp Set for the sentiment. For assorted colours I used the Pen to Marker technique, which I call the Halitosis Technique for short. LOL!

I used some paper from the Cherry on Top Paper Stack for the background. I love all those balloon strings hanging down. Very celebration style.

I will list all products used below as usual for your convenience and remember if you would like any of these products just click on the product and it will take you to my store.

Thanks for dropping by!

Inkspiration Challenge #87

Hey everyone!

It’s Inkspiration time and I am not going to miss this one. I have so much inspiration lying around me in the shape of brand new SU goodies that I have no excuse! lol!

Here’s this weeks sketch

I really like this sketch and found there was a lot of options with this design. So to help me along a little I pulled out what I find to be one of my most useful tools when I need a little push, the Colour Coach. I wanted to use a colour I have trouble using. The first one that came to mind was Always Artichoke. I checked the card out and saw a very interesting combo. Always Artichoke, So Saffron and Cajun Craze. So here is my result-

I really love the end result of this one. I played with my one of my newest SS, My Friend and my newest ribbon, Seam Binding. This stuff is great to tie bows with. So soft and pliable, you will be seeing me use this a lot.

I stamped the leaf image in second generation with both So Saffron and Cajun Craze then I stamped the “Hello” sentiment in Always Artichoke over the top.

Anyway, hop on over to the Inkspiration Challenge Blog to check out the rest of the DT’s designs and to submit your creation for all to share.

I have one more thing to share, it is a pic of my youngest dressed up in a dragon costume but for the purpose of his dress up theme of “Under the Sea” at Kindy he was the Lochness Monster! lol

Owl Punch Heaven!

Hey everyone!

I couldn’t help it! I just had to have a play with my stamps this arvy and to get my mojo flowing I went looking for a challenge, I didn’t have to go far …… Just Add Ink  have a sketch challenge this week and it was so simple and easy…..well it looked that way at least! LOL! It took me a while to come up with something. Check out the sketch.

See pretty simple right?

Sorry about the photo! Quite bright isn’t it? But I’m sure you get the idea! Did you see the pretty Antique Brad? I am so in love with them! What do you think about my winking owl? Actually he looks a little sleepy! LOL!

ETA- I have changed the photo, so now no sunglasses shall be needed! LOL!

Inkspiration Challenge#37

Hey everyone!

I’m so excited at the moment! I have improved my creative workspace in many ways and it all started when my printer crapped itself. I was so annoyed, because I had so much printing off to do. So on Monday I went to officeworks to get myself a new one.  Big mistake!……..well for the bank account anyway! I will take some photos of my get up and post them tomorrow for you all!

But anyway onto this weeks challenge! It is a sketch, but as it is the last friday of the month that means one of the DT is hosting and it is Chantelle’s turn. Chantelle has also added her own twist to the challenge and it is to ADD POLKA DOTS !!!

So what do you think? I think I like it! I had a play with my new hostess set Apple Blossom. I love the little elements in this set. Lots of fun!

  • Stamp Set– Apple Blossoms
  • Cardstock– Naturals Ivory, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi
  • Ink– Rose Red, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, Wild Wasabi
  • Accessories– So Saffron button, Linen Thread, Polka Dot Textured Impressions, Dimensionals,

The strip of Wild Wasabi CS has had the fibres pulled apart to give the suede effect and then I just screwed it up to distress it and then when I stuck it down I bunched it up to give the ruffled look! I like the effect and might do it some more.

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #27

Hey everyone!

I cannot believe how fast this year is flying by. There is only two weeks left of school and then the kids are home for holidays! I haven’t even started planning anything. How slack am I! But I do have this weeks Inkspiration challenge ready. Just in time actually! I tried starting last week but……..I had nothing, not a thing, my mind was blank…..believe me that is a common occurence! Last night I just pulled out some Baja Breeze CS and went from there. I have no idea how it came together but it did! LOL!

Okay now just between you and me I think my mojo has been stolen! I’m not naming names but I think you all know who it is!! I’m gonna sneak right up and when she’s not looking steal it back. LOL!

Seriously though I sort of do like it but I think I left too much white space. I should have done something there. I am happy with the BG though. I sponged some white craft ink on the Baja Breeze to create the effect of clouds and I punched out some circle and ovals to create the hills. I used Trio Flowers to create the shrub and trees. I then used my 1/16″ punch  for the berries on the shrub. Isn’t it cute?!

  • Stamp Set– Sweet Centres, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
  • Cardstock– Baja Breeze, Kraft, Old Olive and Melon Mambo
  • Ink– White Craft Ink, Melon Mambo, Old Olive
  • Accessories– Sweet Treat Cups, Old Olive Brads, 1 3/4″ Circle punch, Wide Oval punch, 1/2″ Circle punch, Word Window punch, Scallop Oval punch, Dimensionals, Tic Tacs

The rest of the DT will have something fabulous to show you, so check them all out and leave some comment love!

They have a challenge each week. So far there has been a colour and a theme challenge. This time round it is a Sketch

This is the first challenge I have been able to take part in and I had fun. Without further ado……here is my submission-

I just had to play with some more of my new stamps. Can everyone also see I played with Cameo Coral? As you all know not one of my faves ……but  alas it is growing on me. Well I hope you all like the Eye Candy and I’m off to play with some more challenges.

Thanks for dropping by!

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #18

Hey everyone!

I am sooooooo tired today! I had a workshop last night. You may remember from my last post that we were doing a double 12 x 12 Scrapbook LO! I had heaps of fun and so did the girls. I was very impressed with their creativity. As all scrappers know, one LO may not suit another set of photos. You have to take into consideration theme, colours and position. So the girls last night changed the LO to suit their needs. Some of them had Christmas photos, others holiday shots and the rest had gorgeous photos of their children. I was very proud of them. They all did a fabulous job. But that doesn’t explain why I came home with aching muscles and sore feet. I think I must be doing a little too much lately and not getting enough rest. I will sure to be on to that this weekend. LOL!

Well now it is Sketch Challenge time! Have a look-see,

I originally thought of sweet treat cups. But alas I need to buy more. That means I am onto my fourth box since they became available to me……..I must like them! What do you reckon?!

But I did just receive a new order today and decided to use all my new goodies-

I’m loving the Good Neighbors set. I will be playing with that some more. I also bought for myself the Chit Chat rub ons and the Valet ribbons. OOoooohhhhh Choc Chip satin polka dot. My five favourite words. LOL!

  • Stamp Set- Good Neighbors
  • Cardstock- Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss and Very Vanilla
  • Ink– Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss
  • Accessories- Valet Ribbon, Linen Thread, Circle Scissors Plus, Chit Chat rub ons, 1 3/4″ circle punch,  1/2″ circle punch, Vintage Brads, dimensionals and SAMJ

Go and check out the rest of the DT

Now all you guys have to do is ‘have a crack’ at the Inkspiration Sketch Challenge and leave a link on Makeesha’s to your fabulous creation. I can’t wait to see them all.

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #16

Hey everyone!

My weeks are currently going by in Hyperthrust Turbo Boost. I feel like I am about a Lightyear behind. Just when I think I have finished for the day I remember another project, job or chore that needs doing. But that’s okay, after the 6th of December, things should settle down. So in a short 2  1/2 weeks I will be back to normal…….I hope! LOL!

But onto this weeks challenge-

This time I didn’t go with the butterflies, but I didn’t veer to far from them……owls are pretty cute and I haven’t played with my Owl Together Now set since convention back in May. I used it for one of my swaps. I had three different designs for my swaps, but Makeesha liked the owl card very much. I should play with it more. Here is what I came up with-

I really like how this one has turned out. You should have seen my first attempt! It was shocking. It’s one of those cards you hide away, never to see daylight again…LOL! I made it with one of the preorder sets for the Summer Mini. The idea was good but the end result was BAD!!! Sorry Karen! It’s even worse than an ugly card. You can’t make me show it. LOL!

I used a bowl from the kitchen to create my circle. I will invest in some Circle Scissors one day soon I can assure you. With the heart I just smothered it in ink and then rubbed Crystal effects over it to make it glossy before I added the button and twine. The bottom strip of the card was looking a tad to bland so I used the tree from Thoughts and Prayers and clear embossed it to jazz it up a bit. Now I look at it I should have done that all around the card. Oh well!

  • Stamp set– Owl Together Now and Thoughts and Prayers
  • Cardstock– Very Vanilla, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss
  • Ink– Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Tangerine Tango, Creamy Caramel, Riding Hood Red, Versa Mark, More Mustard, Kiwi Kiss, Staz-On
  • Accessories– Ribbon Originals (retired), On Board So Tweet, Crystal Effects, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Aqua Pen, Designer Button, Chocolate Chip Marker, Cutter Kit, Twine, Scallop Edge Punch, SAMJ and Dimensionals

Don’t forget the rest of the DT and our special GDT

I have a workshop on tonight. The Stocking Stuffer and card. I’m all excited! It’s been a little while since my last workshop. It will be great to catch up with everyone. So I better get things prepared!

IMG_7541_1

Hey everyone! It’s time for another fabulous Inkspiration Sketch Challenge! You know what though, I just cannot pick my favourite type of Inkspiration challenge. But I think I love the variety, a different one each week is just what the mojo craves! LOL!

Here is the sketch-

Makeesha

and my creation…..

IMG_7542_1

At the moment I’m absolutely lovin’ white Staz-On on clear acetate. Actually I’m lovin’ white Staz-On period. I’m playing with it today, stamping it straight onto CS. I will let you know how it turns out.

  • Stamp Set– Inspired by Nature, Flight of the Butterfly and Upsy Daisy
  • Cardstock– Pacific Point, Summer Sun and Whisper White
  • Ink– Summer Sun, Pacific Point, Versa Mark and White Staz-On
  • Accessories– Linen Thread, Clear Embossing Powder, Dimensionals, Corner Rounder Punch and Heat Tool

I know you cannot see it too well, due to my crappy photography, but the sentiment has been clear embossed. I like it when the sentiment stands out a little brighter. I also wanted something else shiny on there with the acetate. I was going to Crystal Effects some of the flowers and grass to give the ‘wet’ look, but decided against it, I think it would look better with the green grass. I went for a meadow theme, and a meadow in my mind has lots of yellow grass and wildflowers amongst them.

I was actually going to ditch this card and try and come up with something else in place of the butterfly but decided to stick true to the sketch. This card also looks a little similar to another Sketch challenge I have done. Do you remember it? But I do love these colours together….What do you think?

Don’t forget to check out the rest of the DT

Well I’m off to go play with my white Staz-On.

Thanks for dropping by!

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #10

Hey everyone! I know what you are thinking….It has been a week since I last posted. But do not fear I have been crafting. Can you believe it?? I have been making quite a few cards. Unfortunately I cannot show you what I have been up to just yet. But I have something to show you now…..the next fabulous Inkspiration sketch challenge-

I thought I would tease you again with a sneak peek..hehe-

IMG_7120_1

And of course here is the rest-

IMG_7119_1

I love this set when the images are aged and distressed. It sets it off perfectly. When I plan on doing a distressed card, the key tools I pull out are the Cutter Kit, Sponges, Mat Pack and the Sanded BG. I also wanted to get a start on my Christmas cards, otherwise Christmas will be here in a blink of an eye and I will have nothing prepared. Just like every year I suppose…LOL!

  • Stamp Set– Winter Post, Sanded BG
  • Cardstock– Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla
  • Ink– Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Going Grey, Sahara Sand and Baja Breeze
  • Accessories– Linen Thread, Baja Breeze Ribbon, Mat Pack, Cutter Kit, Eyelet Edge Punch, Sponges and lid off SU button container to make circle

Well of course I couldn’t stop at one…so I have some more eye candy for all you stampaholics…LOL!

IMG_7121_1

I really love how this one turned out. When I finished the other one, this one just popped in my head. Don’t you just love that when it happens??

  • Stamp Set– Flight of the Butterfly, Inspired by Nature and Really Retro
  • Cardstock– Very Vanilla, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss and Pink Pirouette
  • Ink– Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red
  • Accessories– Riding Hood Red Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, Dimensionals, Mat Pack and lid from SU Button container to make circle.

Don’t forget to check out the other DT memebers, they always have something to blow your mind.
