Merry Christmas!!

I thought I would pop on here today and wish all the friends I have made in the blogging world a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Also to thank everyone who has left me such wonderful and inspiring comments since I started my blog  (you all know who you are). Thank you!

I will probably not post again until the new year, as we are all going away for the holidays. Guess where we are going?? Go on guess…….. We are going to Fraser, we are going to Fraser, we are going to Fraser (I’m singing this in a teasing tone mind you…hehe). Luckily for me I have a house sitter, so now I don’t have to worry about shifting the animals to a kennel or about the house (pheew).

I suppose I could leave you with one more card before I embark on my adventure. Here it is-

I know, Iknow

I have used Eastern Blooms again! But I just can’t help myself. This is my sort of stamp set. The big bold blooms are just gorgeous, and as you can see by my discovery on my last post, the leaves in Bodacious Bouquet go very well with Eastern Blooms. But alas I did not use them this time round.

img_5999_1

I had so much fun with the last acetate card that I made, I had to do another one. And as you can see I used my favourite colours again! Rose Red and Chocolate Chip are so gorgeous together. So stunning and vibrant.

  • Stamp Set– Eastern Blooms and Occasional Greetings
  • Cardstock– Acetate, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla
  • Ink– Rose Red, Chocolate Chip and White Versa Mark
  • Accessories-Rose Red DS Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch and Corner Rounder Punch

I did the ‘rock and roll’ effect on the big flowers, I may have said this before….lol but you ink your image in the lightest coloured ink and then into your dark. You don’t want to do it the other way round or you will ruin your light coloured ink pad and stain it with the dark colour. Very handy tip that one.

Well, I’m extremely sore and tired today after yesterdays little escapade! I did the dreaded Christmas shopping. OMG!!! I’m so glad Panadeine exists. I don’t have it very often, but I can assure you it was needed last night!! I’m just so lucky I have such a great friend who looked after my kids while I was on my expedition (Hi Andrea!!:) You’re the best and I love you). It would not have been a very good idea to take them. Not only would they have seen the gifts but I’m pretty sure I would of lost them and I wouldn’t have got half the things done that needed doing. I was actually pretty lucky with the parking side of things. It’s just, I made this, see. It had all the things I was going to get the kids! I think I managed to get two things off that list. Everything else I had to substitute with something else as nothing was left. Not too mention I went over my debit card limit for the day. That will teach me for trying to do everything in one day….

Oh well better go wrap all those gifts….lol

Well as promised, I have done the Kristina WernerCI. I must add also that I completed this card in less than half an hour. I’m so proud of myself. Sometimes I can sit there half the day just trying to choose a stamp set…lol.

Seeing as we (down under) have not got Baja Breeze yet, I opted for Cool Caribbean which was one of last years In Colours. I still use it quite regularly, it is one of my favourites.

I love Eastern Blooms and I have discovered that the leaf out of Bodacious Bouquet matches very well. Tell me what you think.

  • Stamp Set– Eastern Blooms, Say it with Scallops and Bodacious Bouquet
  • Cardstock– Very Vanilla, So Saffron, Cool Caribbean and Close to Cocoa
  • Ink– Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Cool Caribbean and So Saffron
  • Accessories– Chocolate Chip Ribbon, Square and Edge Scallop Punches, Dimensionals, Mat Pack and Glue Dots

I’m pretty happy with this one, the colours go so well. Thank you Kristina!

Thanks for dropping by!

Seasons Greetings!!

I was a busy girl today! Craft wise that is. Can you believe it?! I couldn’t….lol. But the invitation for a friend to come over for a play was to good to resist. And OH MY!! Did we play. I have completed three cards and my friend Tina (Hi Tina!!) made four. Gosh! Tina made more than me……That’s just not on!!

img_5991_1

I have always admired this stamp set but yet to get it so I borrowed my mums set for this one.  I also wanted to do non traditional colours.Of course I had to do it in pinks.

  • Stamp Set– Solemn Stillness and Many Merry Messages
  • Cardstock– Very Vanilla and Rose Red
  • Ink– Versa Mark, Rose Red, Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink
  • Accessories– Regal Rose Ribbon, SAMJ, Clear Embossing Powder and Sponges.

The trimming on the tree and sentiment are clear embossed. Very easy to do with a coloured ink. This is how you do it-

I stamped the image into the Versa Mark and then into the selected ink pad colour and then onto your cardstock, sprinkle the powder over the stamped image and heat as you usually would.

I will be back again tomorrow with another one of today’s creations or I might just scoot over and do the new Kristina Werner CI tonight.

Hi all, I received an award a couple of weeks ago and I am just now getting to post it up. Isn’t it just fabulous?! It’s just as fabulous as the person who gave it too me…Hi Debbie!! Thank you for this lovely award, you are too kind.

I am now meant to pass this on to my favourite top ten blogs…..but you know me I have too many to choose from. If you are wanting some inspiration, please, by all means check out my blog roll to the right of my page. All those ladies inspire me in one way or another. I know, I know it’s a big list! But what can I say there are so many wonderful crafters out there.

Thanks for dropping by!

Christmas is coming!

Do you remember when I did a tutorial for the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog? Well those lovely ladies over there have asked me to be a designer for them on a monthly basis. It’s fabulous news isn’t it?! I had heaps of fun there last time and met some wonderful people. It proves it’s a small world when one of them have the same friends as you but you haven’t met yet. Hi Manola!! Well for this month I made this card for them. So glitzy isn’t it?! I have this new embossing powder called Ancient Golds by Stamp it. I just had to give it a go. It’s so beautiful! I added something a little extra to this one though. I don’t usually add things inside cards, but if it’s for someone special at Christmas, that someone who is hard to buy for, or your not quite sure what they like, this is perfect.

img_5984_2

It’s a gift card holder! I got the pattern from the ultra fabulous Kristina WernerThe link to the pdf file can be found on her blog here. I didn’t use the whole pattern just the base. Have a go, they are so easy and you can decorate it anyway you want.

  • Stamp Set– Occasional Greetings
  • Cardstock– Kraft Cardstock, Real Red and Whisper White
  • Ink– Chocolate Chip and Versa Mark
  • Accesories– Real Red Ribbon, Ancient Golds Embossing Powder (not SU), Heat Tool, Cuttlebug (not SU), Corner Rounder and Buttons(not SU).

If I had more time I would have probably Embossed the Gift card holder as well, just to tie it in with the front. But no fear I have more to make, so when I have done those I will upload them too.

Well now I better get moving and organise for my last workshop for the year which is held tomorrow night. I know what they will be making but just haven’t got it all organised. I will have a busy day tomorrow that’s for sure.

Thanks for dropping by!

Kristina Werner CI #32!

Because I’m such a busy girl this week I thought I would kill two birds with one stone. Not only am I participating in another one of Kristinafabulous CI’s I’m doing a Elite Challenge as well by using the Eastern Blooms Stamp Set. I love this set as everyone knows. I hope  you all like it as much as I.

img_5931_14

  • Stamp Set– Eastern Blooms and Warm Words
  • Cardstock– Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Taken with Teal and Pumpkin Pie
  • Ink– Pumpkin Pie, Taken with Teal and Chocolate Chip
  • Accessories– Chocolate Chip DS Ribbon, Chocolate Buttons (not SU), Scallop Edge Punch, Oval Punch, White Gel Pen, Mat Pack, Certain Celery marker and Glue Dots.

I used a couple of techniques on this number I did a bit of sponging and faux stitching. The buttons are not SU but I couldn’t help myself. The card looked awesome with them. You can get Close to Cocoa buttons which would look fine as well.

I would love to stay and chat but have heaps to do. I’m making a trip into Toowoomba today to get last minute things for the Dance Concert. It just never ends…… but the kids love it that’s the main thing!

Thanks for dropping by!

I simply can’t get enough!

img_5929_1Eastern Blooms really have grabbed my attention, soooo very pretty!  I can assure you that there will be plenty more to show. My wonderful upline Theresa came up with the design, I did it in different colours, sentiment and added a bit of the new ribbon also available in the new summer mini! It is available in Rose Red (pictured), Bashful Blue and Chocolate Chip. It is absolutely beautiful ribbon in 1″ width, just stunning. Now the sentiment is also in the new mini. Is it gorgeous or what?! The stamp set is called Say it with Scallops which accompanies the Square scallop punch. All those fans of the Circle scallop punch will also adore this one. In the coming weeks I will show more cards done with this set.

Onto a different note, after yesterdays little mishap in the middle of Crazy Prices, I seem to be on the mend already. I can’t believe it though, I’m usually off my feet for about a week. I’m also not too sure what happened, it was not the same as anything else I have experienced with back related issues. I have gone from absolute agonising pain (on your hands and knees sort of pain) to being able to get about like normal…..well nearly. I have a tightness in my middle back, but no shooting or crippling pains. I said to myself yesterday if I was no better today I would go see a Doctor but for now there is no need. Thank God. Now all those things I was thinking I would not be able to do are now back on my to do list. Hopefully I will succeed in getting it all finished. The biggest one would have to be to start the Christmas shopping…lol.

  • Stamp Set– Eastern Blooms and Say it with Scallops
  • Cardstock– Close to Cocoa, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White
  • Ink– Close to Cocoa and Pretty in Pink
  • Accessories– Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa and Rose Red marker, Rose Red DS ribbon, Square Scallop punch, Circle Punches and Rose Red brads.

I’m hoping you enjoyed todays entry and I shall see you all tomorrow with something else because I plan on doing some more cards tonight. Nothing will get in my may, except for the fact I  might have to clean up my workstation before I start because it looks like a bomb hit it.

Thanks for dropping by!

Another little Summer Beauty!

img_5919_1I’m absolutely loving some of the stamp sets that are now available in our Summer Mini! I couldn’t help myself, I bought quite a few of them, but still haven’t had a play with them all. Better get moving on that. Not today though….. why not you ask? I will tell you why. Not only is it my youngest girls birthday but this morning, while in Crazy Prices buying Candy Canes for the kids Christmas cards, I had Darcy on my hip standing stock still, not twisting or tuning or even moving, my back gave way and with me yelling in pain I ended up on my hands and knees with my kids around me asking me what happened, was I okay, can I get up??? Very good question. I had never experienced such excruciating pain like that before. Oh yes I have hurt my back before, while working, twisting and turning. But I have never hurt my back while doing absolutely nothing. This is a first for me. You know what though NOT ONE person in that whole shop came to my aid……..that’s right no one. My poor children didn’t know what to do. I bit my tongue, HARD, got up and dragged myself over to the counter, paid for the candy (yes I was toughin’ it, buying that candy), the lady at the register ignored my obvious pain, even tough my kids were asking 5000 questions if I was okay. I just couldn’t believe their ignorance. I think my kids were a little bewildered that I was ignored too. When I finally got to the car I rang my Hubby, he came to my aid straight away. He gave me some panadeine soluble, and in about twenty minutes I was fit enough to drive. Thank God. I have been at home doing nothing since. But enough about my miserable morning…..img_5918_1

  • Stamp Set– Ocean Commotion
  • Cardstock– Clear Acetate, Soft Sky, Whisper White and Blue Bayou
  • Ink– Stazon White
  • Accessories– Bashful Blue and Not Quite Navy markers, SAMJ and Glue Dots.

Very easy to do. I coloured in the rubber with the markers and then ‘huffed’ on the rubber to re moisten the rubber again and stamped straight away. I used Glue Dots to adhere the cardstock on the inside and outside. You can only see the dots on the back, but you can cover them with another piece of cardstock if  you don’t want it show.

Well I have another dance class to get to, so chow for now!
