Inkspirations Colour Challenge #34

Hey everyone!

Well, when you think about it, Christmas is not too far away! It makes me wonder where has this year gone???! I remember as a child that time just seemed to stand still. I think when you are a kid you are always in such a hurry trying to experience all sorts of things and sometimes that also meant growing up. But now, when you have your own kids, you want things to slow down so you can enjoy those precious gems a little longer…….I think I have gone way off track here but I think what I am trying to say is if I don’t start my Christmas cards now, it will be too late and they will not get done and I might have to…….some people might want to close their eyes at this point as I am about to swear!!!…….BUY Christmas cards to post! LOL!

Anyway here is this weeks colour combo

We have also the added challenge from Sarah-Jane this month to make a card with buttons. I love buttons so that was easy! Also Sarah-Jane is hosting this week so make your way to Sarah’s blog to submit your Inspiration.

As you can see I tried the Vintage look! I don’t think I did enough on the middle panel. What do you think??

  • Stamp Set– Winter Post, Christmas Classics
  • Cardstock– Kraft, More Mustard, Not Quite Navy
  • Ink-Close to Cocoa, Versa Mark, More Mustard
  • Accessories– Colour Spritzer, Sponges, SAMJ, Mat Pack, Beachfront Ribbon Originals (retired), Linen Thread, Kraft Corduroy Button, Cutter Kit

I seriously doubt it though. I have too much on my plate at the moment and I am struggling to keep up! Sound familiar?!

Anyway here is some more pics of the “once in a blue moon scrapping” LOL!

Taylored Expressions Sketch #122

Hey everyone!

Can you believe it?? I am blogging a card that I made just to make it!! LOL! Don’t get me wrong I love being a part of the Inkspirations Design Team. It is just fabulous and it is the reason I have been making any cards of late. It’s just great that I could blog more than once this week! LOL! So I chose the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge

Here is Taylor’s sketch

and my submission

The photo does not do it justice, it looks pink but it is Rose Red. One of those colours hard to photograph just right. I do sort of like this card, maybe a little to pink!! LOL! But it did give me the chance to play with my watercolour crayons. I am doing a class on this technique next Thursday, so I needed to re-hone my skills on the subject! Inspired by Nature is the perfect SS to do this with too! After stamping I used my aqua painter to blend it further. I then used the crayon to outline a little of the flower and put the spots on the butterfly.

Well I am in the mood to create some more! So I might get to it before it passes………….whoops too late! Just kidding!

Thanks for dropping by!

Inkspiratons Sketch Challenge #33

Hey everyone!

It’s Friday and that means Inkspiration time. I love it as it is taking me away from the fundraising organising. There is so much to do but I love to take a break every now again! LOL! Okay this week it is of course the Sketch challenge and when I first saw it I thought ‘Bugger, I don’t have the oval Big Shot Die’. But I had a template from another project I made quite a while ago and I used that! Tricky hey??

Here’s the sketch

and my creation

I love garden scenes on oval shapes. Not sure why…..just do! LOL! As you can see I pulled out my old favourite …Pocket Silhouettes and of course another set that goes so well with it, Flight of the Butterfly! Upsy Daisy is also in the mix. I LURVE these sets. They have been well used and of course still stamp beautifully!

  • Stamp Set– Flight of the Butterfly, Upsy Daisy, Pocket Silhouettes
  • Cardstock– Soft Suede, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, Sweet Always DSP
  • Ink- Soft Suede, Sahara Sand, Pretty in Pink, Staz-On White
  • Accessories– Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, Clear Rhinestone, Butterfly Punch, Trio Flower punch, Linen Thread, Pink Pirouette Button, Dimensionals. Sponges

Something is just not right or maybe something is missing I am not sure. You be the judge!

Sweet Sunday Sketch #77

Hey everyone!

I’m back again! Can you believe it?? LOL! As it turned out the next challenge didn’t take all day so I am able to post this one today!

I decided to play with Karen’s Sweet Sunday Sketch (for the first time, mind you).

Bit cute isn’t it?! It took me about 10 minutes to choose which stamp set to use. I wanted to go girly cute but my fingers kept reaching for Winter Post. So let’s call this one “Christmas in July”

I love this set! I clear embossed the skaters with Sahara Sand Ink and then used my blender pens to colour them. I am also loving this colour combo. I used it a lot for last years Chrissy Cards.

Well I want to go forth and create more so while the goings good I best be going.

Thanks for dropping by!

JAI #25

Hey everyone!

The plan for the weekend was to participate in as many challenges I could………I FAILED miserably! I completed one, and that took me allllll day. I finished it last night around 10.30pm. I am so not in the zone and I am hating it. But I like this card. At first I was “ahhh, okay this one is so,so”, but when I woke this morning with a fresh perspective, I didn’t mind it at all!

So this is Just Add Ink’s challenge this week

Verrrry nice hey?! You should give it a try!

Here is my submission

I will say when the card is front on you can see the whole sentiment. I didn’t see that I was chopping it off when I was taking its glamour shot. LOL! So what do you think of the two totally different stamp sets, the stamps that are in the “never thought of putting those two together” category. I think they look pretty good together. The big flower fits beautifully in the middle of the medallion. The colouring however will not be mentioned! LOL! I had a couple of boo boo’s! It’s all practice I say!

Anyway seeing as the kids are having a Pupil Free Day today (found that out the hard way, mind you I have never seen three kids sink so far down in the car seats before….LMAO!!), I am going to participate in some more challenges!

Thanks for dropping by!

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #31

Hey again!

There is a technique I haven’t tried yet, and I was reminded of it again a few days ago while visiting the Stampin’ Connections site! It’s the Scratch ‘n’ Sniff technique! Have you tried it before? I have been wanting to do this technique with the Tart ‘n’ Tangy Stamp Set. It suits perfectly and when I saw this weeks Sketch Challenge I knew exactly what I was going to do!

Check out the sketch

And this is my card

It is very simple, I know but ohhhhh…the smell! It smells so good! The mixture to create the Scratch ‘n’ Sniff is 1 spoon of sugar-free jelly crystals, or any other substance that you can use as a “smell”, like cinnamon, chocolate and coffee, with 1 1/2 spoons of clear embossing powder. So simple! Give it a go and see what else you can find to use as a “smell”.

  • Stamp Set– Tart ‘n’ Tangy, Enjoy Every Moment, Woodgrain BG
  • Cardstock– Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Riding Hood Red DSP
  • Ink– Versa Mark, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss
  • Accessories– Jelly Crystals, Clear Embossing powder, Cutter Kit, Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy, Dimensionals

Now don’t forget the rest of the DT

Inkspirations Colour Challenge #30 WINNER!!

Hey everyone!

Well this has to be the toughest part of hosting challenges…choosing the Winner and the Honorable mention! I have been checking all the entries out and it so wonderful to see such a wide variety of styles and designs. It makes want to go forth and create! LOL!

Okay well this is what I came up with and I think you will all agree that these winners did a fabulous job!

This weeks winner is Nikki Stalker. This card is so striking, clean and simple. Every card makers dream!!

Isn’t the colouring divine?! Congrats Nikki I will send you the Gust Designer letter this evening with next weeks challenge for you to try out!

Okay now for the Honorable mention, I just couldn’t go past Karen Thomas’s  creation. So very pretty, and Petal Pizzazz!!! I know that I, along with hundreds of other people are all so very happy that Karen Thomas is back to blogging. She is one fabulous crafter! Here is her creation

I love how Karen has used the ever so useful Baroque Motif in the background. I love the Kissing and I also love the crocheted flower in the centre. Well done Karen!

Hahahaha! I just realised these two cards have the same sentiment! But I bet you all agree they are decidedly different with two fabulous techniques.

Here is a slide show of all the other fabulous designs. Well done to all!

I have a GOOD reason….I promise!

Hey everyone!

I do realise that I have let you all down….. even if it just a little bit! My blogging seems to only consist of my Inkspiration challenges. That’s not all bad but if I didn’t have that I would go mad I am sure of it! because then I wouldn’t have any creating time at all! What I have been doing is getting ready for the RACQ CareFlight Fundraiser! Wanna see some pics of what I have been up to?! Stupid question I know!!

A couple of projects sitting on top of all the kits

250 kits to be exact

Some pre-packed goodies to sell! The boxes behind are full of these.

I love them all and want to keep them!!

A BIG thank you to Amy Waters for her inspiration for the packaged goodies. Makeesha for letting me use her fabulous ideas for some of the projects and of course all of her advice! All the girls on the Elite forum…..for all your kindness in donating product for the event. It is all very much appreciated. This is my first fundraiser and with everyone’s help and support I know it will be a success!

Well I will be back later today to reveal the winners for Inkspirations and then later again with this weeks challenge! That means three posts in one day!! Hehehe!

Thanks for dropping by!
