Artful Stampers Challenge- Crazy About You!

Hello everyone,

I have been meaning to do this for quite a while, and that’s to take part in an Artful Stampers Team Challenge. They are up to #48, so it seems I have missed quite a few. Hopefully I can keep this up for a while as I have missed being part of a challenge team, and just crafting in general.

So here is the challenge.

Artful Stampers Team Challenge #48

Now when I first saw this combo I was Hmmm….. maybe I should wait for next week! LOL. I have an aversion to Bright Green and Cucumber Crush falls in this category. I just don’t know what to do with it.

But what’s a challenge if you aren’t really challenged, right?! I decided that I didn’t have to use much of the colour, but where ever I used it, it would pop. So the first step with a colour challenge is to find a stamp set that would suit it. I always find myself going for Nature themed stamps when I have the colour green in the combo. Maybe one day I will find another use the colour green.

Crazy About You- Artful Stampers Team Challenge #48

The first thing I stamped was the yellow flower onto some copy paper to create a mask. I then stamped the flower in the middle, masked it off and stamped the other two in second generation. I then shifted the mask to the other flowers and stamped the leaves. With these I inked the stamp in Mint Macaroon and used a Cucumber Crush marker to flick colour on the base of the leaves before stamping. When all the stamping was complete I then used the Crushed Curry and Mint Macaroon Markers to outline the images. It gave the images more definition and I really like the effect. The word hello was glued on next and it is four layers thick…..see I told you it wold ‘pop’!! LOL

Crazy About You

Last but not least the word ‘Sunshine’ was stamped underneath.

You would have arrived from Alison Barclay’s Blog and you will go onto Anna Foster’s.

Festive Friday Challenge #26

Hello everyone!

It’s time again for a Festive Friday Challenge and this week it is a Colour Challenge.

I love these tones together and if I could make every card in these I would be a happy girl! LOL!

I now have a love affair going with the Elizabeth stamp set. It’s not only great for the placement of the sentiment but also a good background element if stamped in the right places. I also love the two little banners underneath the vintage brad. They are a cute little element, but they are not too distracting that it draws your eye away from the main image.

I hope you all have a chance to play along this week and share with us what you have created.

Thanks for dropping by!

Festive Friday Challenge #18

Hi everyone!

I am a little late today posting this. My week has been quite busy and I hope to get back on top of it before Mother’s Day on Sunday so I can sit back and relax! LOL!

Todays Festive Friday Challenge hosted by the lovely Nicole Derendorf is a colour challenge

I love this combo for Christmas cards, it has a lovely country feel to it.

I have used the Framelits die yet again, but this time I used the negative as an accent. You can also see I have used the gold Shimmer Mist over the card to Christmas it up a bit. Stamp set used is my favourite Christmas set, Winter Post and the sentiment is a part colouring of a stamp out of Tags til Christmas. I also used my favourite background for Christmas cards, Woodgrain.

Come along and have a play with the challenge and don’t forget to link your creation at Nicole’s blog

Wisteria Field Flowers

Hello everyone!

I was taking a gander around blog world yesterday and I decided it was about time I had a play with a challenge. It has been a while don’t you think?! One of the first ones I checked was Just Add Ink and they had a gorgeous colour combo challenge. Take a peek

Isn’t that a beautiful combo? But also a challenge for me as I always have a bold colour in the mix, maybe even two, but I don’t class any of these as bold. But I managed to make the Wisteria Wonder pop by embossing it. Have a look

Here’s a closer look

I used the stamp sets Field Flowers, French Foliage and Precious Butterflies for the sentiment. I used one of my favourite brads and the pretty Pool Party ribbon to add an accent. I also used the Woodgrain BG stamp on the base.

It was great having a go at a challenge again…..should do it again real soon!

Inkspiration Challenge #74

Hey everyone!

It’s Inkspiration time again! This week is a colour challenge –

I have to admit I have been sitting on these colours for a while. I thought I would work ahead in the challenges, but these colours were stumping me. I actually made quite a few creations in these colours before I settled on this one. I think I just wasn’t in a Melon Mambo mood! LOL!

I do like this one, even though I made up my own exotic flower, I actually pulled out the Fifth Avenue SS. This is something I haven’t done in a long time.  The stamens in the middle of the flowers would have looked nice in So Saffron though, don’t you think?

Well I hope you like the end result anyway! It’s the best I could do…..LOL!

Don’t forget to check out the rest of the DT and submit your creation over at the Inkspirations Challenge Blog!

Inkspirations Challenge #52

Hey everyone!

I have to admit…….I need to learn how to blog again! LOL! When uploading the above picture I had to think twice about where I do that!. How bad is that?! But instead of blogging I have been enjoying my kids and hubby heaps. Hubby is home on two weeks holiday so we have been catching up on all that work that needed doing in the backyard and around the house. It feels so good to achieve some things around here. This year we are working on installing a new kitchen and I cannot wait!

But that’s not why your here and I know I am a day late with posting this, but hey, remember I am learning how to do this again!

This week challenge is a colour one, and I must admit it was a toughy for me. I really need to get back into the swing of things. I think the hubby is too much of a distraction. I might have to send him back to work early! LOL! Check out the Inkspirations site for the new challenge and check out the rest of the DT’s awesome work.

I had a play with a new set from the Summer mini, Grunge Rock. One of my new fave sets by the way! I also think this card can be used for either girl or boy, don’t you think?

Anyways check out the rest of the DT!

Inkspiration Colour Challenge #28

Hey everyone!

My blogging behaviour of late has been a little erratic……actually it resembles my life at the moment! LOL! I am holding a fundraiser in August for RACQ CareFlight. We needed this service earlier in the year and they are a fabulous service and they rely on donations and fundraising to help keep them going. I will be putting up a separate post soon about the event in more specific detail.

Now onto this weeks challenge. These colours are nice but I don’t play with them together. They are all strong colours. I usually have one bold colour with a couple of neutrals and/or a lighter colour. So this was definitely a challenge for me.

I would love to say I love my submission………but I only just like it. It’s not my usual style but again…..you have to challenge yourself right??!

Funny enough though I had no Elegant Eggplant CS and I found I couldn’t use a lot of the ink as it looked odd without the CS to back it up! I know…I know I’m strange! LOL

  • Stamp Set– Enjoy Every Moment
  • Cardstock– Pumpkin pie, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
  • Ink– Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant
  • Accessories– Silver Brad, White Embossing powder, Scallop Edge punch, Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy, Chocolate Chip Double Stitched ribbon, Dimensionals

Now check out the rest of the DT plus our guest plus check out our winner from last week Sally little, who happens to be my downline!!  Her submission is on Keesh’s blog, but check out her blog too. She makes such pretty things.

Inkspirations Colour Challenge #19

Hey everyone!

I must be boring you all silly with all the Petal Pizzazz cards, and to think I nearly pulled it out again for this colour challenge. I decided to challenge myself and pick another stamp set. Believe me….that was a challenge. I seem to be drawn to it of late!

Here is the challenge-

I decided to pull out one of the sale-a-bration sets seeing they will soon be no longer available to purchase. I totally adored the houses when I saw them and I will know I will get lots of use out of them as we seem to get a huge number of “NEW” neighbours in the rental house next door! I think it has something to do with me!! Something like, “Oh Lord, here comes THAT stamp lady again!” LOL!

  • Stamp Set– Good Neighbour, Nursery Necessities and Pocket Silhouettes
  • Cardstock– Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Taken with Teal and Whisper White
  • Ink– Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose and Taken with Teal
  • Accessories– Chocolate Chip ribbon, SAMJ, Scallop Edge Punch, White Gel Pen, Dimensionals and Cutter Kit
