Hey everyone!
My weeks are currently going by in Hyperthrust Turbo Boost. I feel like I am about a Lightyear behind. Just when I think I have finished for the day I remember another project, job or chore that needs doing. But that’s okay, after the 6th of December, things should settle down. So in a short 2 1/2 weeks I will be back to normal…….I hope! LOL!
But onto this weeks challenge-
This time I didn’t go with the butterflies, but I didn’t veer to far from them……owls are pretty cute and I haven’t played with my Owl Together Now set since convention back in May. I used it for one of my swaps. I had three different designs for my swaps, but Makeesha liked the owl card very much. I should play with it more. Here is what I came up with-
I really like how this one has turned out. You should have seen my first attempt! It was shocking. It’s one of those cards you hide away, never to see daylight again…LOL! I made it with one of the preorder sets for the Summer Mini. The idea was good but the end result was BAD!!! Sorry Karen! It’s even worse than an ugly card. You can’t make me show it. LOL!
I used a bowl from the kitchen to create my circle. I will invest in some Circle Scissors one day soon I can assure you. With the heart I just smothered it in ink and then rubbed Crystal effects over it to make it glossy before I added the button and twine. The bottom strip of the card was looking a tad to bland so I used the tree from Thoughts and Prayers and clear embossed it to jazz it up a bit. Now I look at it I should have done that all around the card. Oh well!
- Stamp set– Owl Together Now and Thoughts and Prayers
- Cardstock– Very Vanilla, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss
- Ink– Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Tangerine Tango, Creamy Caramel, Riding Hood Red, Versa Mark, More Mustard, Kiwi Kiss, Staz-On
- Accessories– Ribbon Originals (retired), On Board So Tweet, Crystal Effects, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Aqua Pen, Designer Button, Chocolate Chip Marker, Cutter Kit, Twine, Scallop Edge Punch, SAMJ and Dimensionals
Don’t forget the rest of the DT and our special GDT
I have a workshop on tonight. The Stocking Stuffer and card. I’m all excited! It’s been a little while since my last workshop. It will be great to catch up with everyone. So I better get things prepared!

Hi Kirsty, I emailed you a while back about where you got the stocking template, I have a craft fair coming up too. Thanks so much for getting back to me, if I had a blog, I’d show you my creations! Anyway, I just wondered what sold the best at your table and what prices you may have been selling things at. I’m very new to this! If you get a chance please email me back.
Thanks, and have a fun workshop tonight.

I must echo Makeesha’s comments and say this is ab-so-lute-ly BRILLIANT! I love those little owls but the beauty of this card is in the details, from your wonderful watercoloring, the offset limbs, the cute ribbon and the little heart under the button!! And the color combo. It’s a 10 in my book!

Too cute. Love the colours, and I think the ‘foliage’ at the bottom is just the right amount (might’ve been a bit much all over). You’re so darn clever, Kirsty. 🙂

Snap!! Owl Together Now too!! Awesome. Love what you have done, especially how you used the stamp from Thoughts and Prayers to add along the bottom edge of the card. I think the little heart and button together is very cute too.
