This Day Forward!

Hello everyone!

I have been meaning to get this post up for a while now, and I’m so glad I found time today to do it. I had a workshop a couple of weeks ago with the special request of creating a wedding card. The only set I have in my many, many stamp sets suitable for a wedding card is This Day Forward. I loved this set from first laying eyes on it.148cc330c998dedb93ea3909069d9b76

As usual though the set had not yet seen ink! LOL……..until now that is. There was a beautiful box sample in the catalogue using this set and I decided to turn the same creation into a card. This is what I came up with.

This Day Forward Card

A very simple but elegant design. I loved it.

I couldn’t stop there though, I decided this card needed a companion. I pulled out the Tag a Bag Gift Boxes and went from there.

I was on Pinterest and found this lovely design by Stampin’ Club. It is simply gorgeous and thought it complimented the card well.

We also created one more card, a very easy card. I love those. I CASE’ed this card from somewhere. I thought it was Pinterest, but it wasn’t on my board, so now I’m not so sure. If you know who created this card please let me know so I can link them. Thanks! The original had a bigger butterfly stamp on it. That stamp was from the Best of 25yrs stamp promotion and the set was called the Best of Butterflies.

EDIT TO ADD- The original has been found, thank you very much Corinna Buchan. Melissa Davies from RubberFUNatics is the original design I CASE’d. Go check it out.

With Love

So as you can see we had lots of fun and I cannot wait to share the next workshop with you.

Thanks for dropping by!

Brand New Goodies!

Hello everyone,

It has been quite a while since my lat post, but I have some exciting news to share. Most of you would probably already have heard about the new product Stampin’ Up! have added to their new annual catalogue this year, but for my followers who haven’t……drumroll please,

Header_ProjectLife_May2314_ENG BH_StampinUpAnnounce_041514_01

How exciting!

I have been a keen Project Lifer for close to two years now, and I cannot express enough how much I love this form of scrapbooking. As you are aware from my “About Me” description in the side bar. I am very, very, very behind in my scrapbooking, but since starting Project Life I have actually managed to keep up with all my photos with this easy to use, easy to decorate system.

Here is a sneak peek of one of the kits,

6a0105349d6b3d970c01a3fd196645970b-500wi

There are of course matching accessories and photopolymer stamps, with of course the tools required to create pages, including pocket pages, dies, journaling pens and a corner punch.

I will be starting Project Life classes from home, sharing my passion and love of my favourite product, Stampin’ Up! If you would like to come along and create your own Project Life page then contact me to find out dates for upcoming workshops in July. Contact details are in my sidebar, you can choose to call or email me.

Thanks for dropping by!

You Make Me Happy!

Hello everyone, Did you think I would be back so soon? I know I didn’t, LOL! I seem to be on a card making streak. Let’s hope it lasts, I do have some Project Life to catch up on, so probably not too much longer. I have always wanted to go in without a plan with a card. I had an idea (you must have an idea), but no plan. I wanted to start with a water-coloured background and go from there. I just ripped four inks off the shelf, slapped them on some water-colour paper, wet them, spread them, then create something on top of it. I found myself quite surprised with what I ended up with. I seriously thought it would be a disaster, I would laugh loudly and say something like ‘What was I thinking?’ and go back to planning  a card. I must say it is not my usual sort of creation but I like it. What do you think? You Make Me Happy DSC_0478   I am loving gold at the moment and plan on playing with it some more, so keep a look out for that. You might end up telling me to “Back up away from the Gold!” Lol Stamps used-

Hello Sweet Friend!

Hello everyone,

I have just recently had some time to sit down and make cards that are my very own creation. I love it when I have enough artistic inspiration to come up with something of my own. It has been a very dry spell on the card making front so far this year and this was a very welcome change. I have created other cards but they were CASE’s of other people’s beautiful work and I will put them up here on my blog in due course to share with you all.

I am so in love with the Fine Feathers stamp set and have been itching to create something “good” with it. I stress the word good because I have struggled with this set since I bought it. I have made a couple of cards with the set, but they will never see the light of day on my blog! LOL. Even though this set is not  predominate on this card it is one of the main elements.

Christmas in the Country Craft Show 2013!

Hellllloooo lovelies,

It’s been a long time since I last posted and so much has happened. I just don’t know where to start…….well firstly I should say that I am in a happier place with Cash’s untimely death. It still hurts of course, and still a shock, but it’s like they say, time heals all wounds. I have decided to have his hair made into a bracelet so I will have some of him with me always. Just have to find a designer I like.

I have continued my workshops from home and it’s been wonderful meeting new friends and customers in our new hometown. Plus catching up with current ones from my old hometown who make the big trip up to attend my workshops. They are true diehard crafters who love my workshops and who have turned into some of my best friends.  They attend every fortnight and I look forward to it every week. We always laugh til we pee!!! Love you girls!!

If you have been following me for a few years you would know I do an annual craft show in Gatton, the Christmas in the Country Craft Show. Every year I think I won’t do it the next, due to time and other responsibilities, but I always juggle it so I can make it happen and I am never disappointed. I meet and make new friends, catch up with old friends and share my passion, papercrafting, with them all. Plus make some great money for Christmas. I spend a lot of my earnings on buying from other stalls there. Just gorgeous goodies, a lot of it one-off products, for my loved ones for Christmas. I have a few photos to share. Not too many,  I’m sorry I just ran out of time to take singular shots of all projects. I made quite a few different projects this year. A lot of them were made on my Silhouette Cameo……I’m so in LOVE with this machine LOL!

Before I get started please be aware if you choose to make and sell things created on the Silhouette make sure you purchase a commercial licence for each design you plan on selling, not all designs in the Silhouette offer this so check before you buy. I bought some designs from the Silhouette store and quite a few from SVG cuts. You can create and sell anything you purchase from SVG cuts, but you obviously cannot share the file you download to create these projects with.

To begin with I started on Pinwheels. They have been very popular lately and I decided to come up with some working ones. They were super cute and fun to make. Kids love these, and as it turned out so did adults. I must say my gorgeous hubby helped with the design on this one. He has a love of engineering and manufacturing.

IMG_1054

I only made one of these and the following designs as they were very involved creations, but were very popular.

IMG_1058

This is the stash I had put together in about one month. Lots of hard work in there.

IMG_1059

For three months this is what my desk looked like, sometimes messier. LOL!

IMG_1062

I made a few of these canvases again this year. They were quite popular and easy peasy to make.

IMG_1076

Another favourite this year was the roses.

IMG_1084

Just some more roses……

IMG_1091

This year I opted for two tables as I was getting quite crowded with only having one and this year saw many new designs. I hope to have the two tables every year from now on.

All of those photos were taken just after I set up. I hadn’t even finished and another stall holder bought some of my goodies and didn’t make it in the final photos, but that’s okay, I ‘m just glad she loved those roses so much, that she couldn’t walk out the door in fear that they wouldn’t be there on opening night. I made heaps of those roses but they just disappeared every time I turned around. LOL!

Now I best be off to get creating and designing for next years Christmas in the Country Craft Show.

See you there!

Kirsty

Scrappy Goodness!

Hello everyone!

Long time, no blog post. So much has happened these past few months, some are good, some bad. Let’s do the good stuff first.

The Christmas in the Country Craft Show is coming up on October 31st through to 2nd November, and I have been creating madly for it. For those who have been before to this event, you know how fun it is and the quality of product offered. It is a fabulous fundraiser for the local school Peace Lutheran Primary, one which my children used to attend when I lived in the area. This year I will have a lot more on offer and have tried a few new things. My favourite so far is the spinning pinwheels I have created. I love them!

Some other good news is that my sister just gave birth on the 13th September to a beautiful baby girl weighing in at 8lb 7oz. There is no name as yet, my sister is undecided, so I’m not sure what she is calling her when she talks to her, lol. When I get a decent photo I will share it with you. The ones I have turned out blurry. Tamara, if you are reading this I think her name should be Elizabella!!! haha!

Now for the sad news, my beloved paint horse Cash passed away late in the evening on the 9th September. The poor boy was diagnosed with Bronchitis two months earlier, but never got better. He was given two different Antibiotics (at different times of course), but neither of them helped. The vet started to think he may have had an abscess in his lungs after he was tested for EIA (Equine Infectious Anaemia), and it returned a negative result. His last week of life was spent on Bute to help with pain and his fevers, but his big heart gave out in the end. It was not what I or the vet expected and I can assure you I was devastated when I found him at my before bed check. I decided not to go through with a Autopsy. I felt I couldn’t go through the process and clean up after. I had him buried with our other two horses Lukey and Guardian in the paddock the very next day. I was inconsolable for three days and it took another three to not cry if I spoke of him. All that has placated me is that he is pain-free and running around in horsey heaven, racing Lukey and playing tiggy with Guardian. We have one horse left, Dusty, and he is feeling a little lost without his pal, so I will have to look into getting him a paddock mate. I don’t think I will be ready to buy another horse for quite a while, none of them would compare to my buddy Cash. I will need to start afresh when it doesn’t hurt so much.

Here are a couple of pics of my boy.

IMG_0311 IMG_0313 IMG_0654 IMG_0688 IMG_0705

The last one is of Cash and Dusty hanging out in the yards. I miss you buddy!

Okay, no more sadness. I have some scrapbooking to share with you. The first one is one I taught in workshop recently and the other is what I created with the scraps from the first one with some “other” embellishments.

IMG_0841 IMG_0842

They are just super quick and easy layouts and I am very much enjoying using different sized photos in conjunction with the regular 4″x6″. You will se a lot more of that from me I think.

Here is a list of what I have used

  • I Am Me Designer Series Paper
  • Washi tape from the This and That collection
  • Label die from Apothecary Accents
  • Large Scallop Edgelit
  • Basic Grey and Pool Party spritzers I made with the re-inkers
  • Calypso Coral twine
  • Chalk Talk SS and framelits
  • White embossing powder

All of these items can be found at my online store available through Stampin’ Up! If you have any questions about my layout and how I did it please ask via email or in the comment section below.
