Inkspiration Challenge #44

Hey everyone!

Sorry this is late! But I had a disagreement with Photoshop Elements this arvy…it won….but I came back and gave it what for and I won that round! LOL! I also had trouble with this weeks challenge. I just couldn’t wrap my head around the colours and there are quite a few samples lying in my bin right now! Don’t get me wrong……the combo is fine and dandy it was just my mind telling me I had no ideas! My initial thought was to do something with Extreme Elements but I used that set with the last challenge and I wanted to give you something different to look at. After playing with Awash With Flowers for a while I came back to my Extreme set…..I just couldn’t help it. LOL!

I was hoping the blue would be stronger so it was not so transparent, but I think it would only have worked with the craft ink which isn’t available anyway, but I do like that it is subtle enough for a cool girl card. What do you think?

I also have some photos I took the other day from our visit to the Wivenhoe Dam Spillway. The Wivenhoe Dam is purging water as it as at 100% and we are expecting a lot of rain in the coming months so they are making room. Very important as this dam stops Brisbane from being flooded and was built after the ’74 floods. The Spillway has not been opened for over 11 years and is quite an extraordinary sight to behold. It was so very busy there that Traffic Controllers were called in to handle the crowds. Everyone was dripping wet from the spray but no one cared. The kids were in awe. The power of water is simply amazing. You could feel the force as it rushed past.

On the way out alongside the road was a koala in a tree, we stopped to take photos and were greeted by a very cute and curious looking baby koala being cuddled by mum.

Well that’s it from me! I have a busy weekend getting ready for the craft fair next month.

Thanks for dropping by!

I want to thank everyone for playing along and sharing your creations with everyone. Isn’t it amazing  when looking at someone’s card you get all inspired and crafty {well that happens for me anyway LOL!}. There are so many fabulous ideas out there and I want to try them all! LOL! How do you think I will go??

So on to this weeks winner….Rachel Jackson I love how elegant it is with subtle sneak peeks of the flourish in the BG. Oh and the Antique Brad how perfect is it??! Love, love, love it!! Congratulations Rachel you can now be next weeks guest designer. I will email you soon!

Our Honorable Mention goes to Madonna Dunn. I love what Madonna has done with the Shimmer Paint {can you believe I am still yet to get some! LOL!} turning it into a mist and the Baja Breeze Base has been covered with it. So sparkly! It’s a beautiful card! Love it!

I have also put up a slideshow to showcase everyone elses beautiful work. There was only one I couldn’t put up and that was Jenene’s. It had a copyright and I was unable to save it.

It’s Friday and that means Inkspiration time. I love it as it is taking me away from the fundraising organising. There is so much to do but I love to take a break every now again! LOL! Okay this week it is of course the Sketch challenge and when I first saw it I thought ‘Bugger, I don’t have the oval Big Shot Die’. Inkspiration Inspiration #21WINNER!

Hey everyone!

It was so much fun hosting this weeks challenge and I look forward to future hosting sessions. I do not envy however, how Keesh has to choose a winner every week. It is too hard! I liked them all so much! I want to thank everyone that participated in this challenge…you all did a fabulous job!

In the end I couldn’t go past Susan Joyce’s  fabulous creation. I love how she layered the flowers so evenly with bits of leaves poking through. Such a gorgeous vase looking base as well. Gorgeous colours too! Oh so pretty! I love it!

The Honorable Mention goes to Anne. Anne made two fabulous creations and I loved them both. I really love the smooch spray that Anne used. It gave the card such a glittery feminine feel! Just gorgeous!

Here is a slide show of all the other fabulous creations …..I hope this works I have not done a slide show before! We’ll see

Thanks for dropping by! I will be back later with my submission to the next Inkspiration Challenge! See you then!

Inkspiration Inspiration Challenge #21

Hey everyone!!

I thought I would let you know first that Keesh is experiencing more technical difficulties and unfortunately will not have the last Inkspiration winners or the current challenge posted as yet. No-one is more disappointed than Keesh is, but as soon as able they will be up for you all to see. So please stay tuned for that.

This time it is an Inkspiration Inspiration challenge and GUESS WHAT???!! I get to host this one. So very exciting! I do hope that you all have a go at playing with this inspiration piece. I find it so elegant and pretty! Take a look-

and here is my interpretation

Not a lot of stamping happening here but I do love how this has turned out and I will be giving this one to that special someone when the time arrives. Can you guess who?? LOL!

  • Stamp Set- Flower Fancy, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
  • Cardstock- Very Vanilla, Rich Razzleberry, Cottage Wall DSP
  • Ink- Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry
  • Accessories- Rhinestone Brad, Scallop Edge Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Big Shot, Polka Dot Embossing Folder

I am loving this scallop punch faux flowers. They are so easy to create and so very effective. I have seen them everywhere of late so I thought I would contribute. The colours in the picture are a little more pink than what I have used but I have been itching to play with the Cottage Wall DSP. So very pretty!! I also used the outline leaves stamp from the Flower Fancy set on the DSP to make my leaves. I think it suits this flower perfectly and will probably use it like this more often. You all know how I like to stamp flowers!

Make sure you visit the rest of the DT to see more fabulous eye candy and leave them all some comment love.

Want to play along? – here are some guidelines.

If you would like to play along, all you need to do is follow the directions:

1. Make your creation following the challenge ie, sketch, colour, or inspiration image.

2. Load your creation up onto your blog or a public viewing forum like Splitcoast Stampers, with a direct link back to the post on this website, so that others viewing the post will know where the challenge has come from, and it is courtesy to do so.

3. Then come back to this post so that you can add your name and link in the Mr. Linky!

You have until the Thursday the 6th May midnight to get your entries linked.

I will be announcing the winner and honourable mention on Friday the 7th May in the afternoon

I cannot wait to see what you all create! I am SUPER EXCITED!!

ETA- This Mr Linky is different to Keesh’s. I couldn’t get the other version as I am with wordpress.com and it doesn’t have Java script. Pain in the bum! LOL! Just click on the link below and it will direct you to the page to add your name and link. It will not list your names on my blog but will on the Mr Linky link page. IYKWIM!! LOL! Have fun people!!

Second Attempt!

Hey everyone!

I did say I would have another go at the challenge, but this time with different coloured embossing powder. So here it is

It is the same LO as the last one but I changed the colours around a little. Which one do you like more? I like this one!

Best be off to create some more!

Thanks for dropping by!

Inkspiration Inspiration Challenge #20

Hey everyone!

This weeks Inspiration Challenge is very….. well…..BROWN!! You all know how much I love the colour brown. It is just so natural…..just like KRAFT…..one of my other faves. I nearly used Kraft in my card but realised I could use the naturals Ivory which is one of my new purchases. Yep!! That’s right, I have never had any of this Ivory before. The little picture in the catalogue is very deceiving. It looked very spotty and these spots stood out  quite a lot! But in fact it is not that bad. When I was visiting Tina (one of my downlines), I came across it and asked her what CS this was, she informed how it has been under my nose now for the past two years. Well that’s not exactly what she said but that’s how it is! LOL!

Here is this weeks inspiration

I wish I had some Vanilla Embossing powder……actually come to think of it….wait a sec….found it! I had some Embossing powder with a colour called Brown Sugar! It is just a tad darker than the Ivory CS. I might have to have a play and show you the end result. LOL! Isn’t it weird how you think of things when you are doing your blog post up?!!

  • Stamp Set- Inspired by Nature and Pocket silhouettes
  • Cardstock- Ivory Naturals, Basic Black and Soft Suede
  • Ink- Soft Suede and Versa Mark
  • Accessories- White Embossing Powder, Black Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Black Brads, Scallop Edge Punch, Cutter Kit and Sponges.

Inkspiration Inspiration Challenge #19

Hey everyone!

That’s right! It’s that time again! Inkspiration time! When I first saw this particular Inspiration piece though, I thought I was going to have a lot of trouble with it. You all know how difficult I am! Or how difficult I like to be that is…LOL!

I am sure all of you fabulous creators will have no trouble at all. Here is my simple creation

After taking photos I thought it might have needed something else in the background. But I still like the way it turned out. I also liked using colours I don’t usually go for! Not a bad combo I think!

  • Stamp Set- Pocket Silhouettes, Kind Heart
  • Cardstock- Mellow Moss, Lovely Lilac, Basic Black and Very Vanilla
  • Ink- Versa Mark, Lovely Lilac, Mellow Moss and Staz-on
  • Accessories- SAMJ, Clear embossing powder, Heat Tool, Wide Oval punch, Ribbon Originals, Scallop Edge punch and Dimensionals

Check out the rest of the team-

They will have something fabulous I am sure. They never fail to show their awesome creative style.
