Inkspirations Colour Challenge #15

IMG_7600_1

Hey everyone!

This colour challenge was a hardy. I am not a huge fan of Real Rust since a close friend of mine (who will remain nameless….hi Theresa!) made a card with this as one of the colours. OMG!! It was…… something else! {a touch of sarcasm inserted here} It was a memorable moment. LOL! So it has been added to my colour {{shudder}} list along with Cameo Coral.

Here is the Challenge

Makeesha

and of course my creation

IMG_7598_1

I hope you like it. I challenged myself even more by doing a Sympathy card. I have trouble choosing colours with this theme. But I guess making a card for such an occassion is never easy.

As you can tell by the first photo I clear embossed the tree and it stands out perfectly. The card is much nicer close up.

  • Stamp set- Pocket Silhouettes, Thoughts and prayers
  • Cardstock- Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, Close to Cocoa and Whisper White
  • Ink- Chocolate Chip, Really Rust and Close to Cocoa
  • Accessories- Chocolate Chip Ribbon, Slot punch, dimensionals, Clear embossing powder, Heat tool and Cutter Kit

And of course don’t forget to check out the rest of the DT

I hope you enjoy all their fabulous creations.

Thanks for dropping by!

Christmas Stamp-a-Stack!

Hey everyone! Friday night last week I held my first Stamp-a-Stack. It was very enjoyable and the girls had fun. But I did struggle designing the cards. Why? you ask! Well….it’s like this…..I cannot make a simple card, I always layer CS and add embellishments and try a different technique with every card. I find it quite hard to balance and make a simple card look….well, amazing! IYKWIM!

IMG_7573_1

So this is what I came up with! I couldn’t help it…I used some ribbon…and brads and punches…..LOL! But I did have fun challenging myself. I think I succeeded!

Thanks for dropping by!

Inkspiration Inspiration Challenge #14

IMG_7568_1

Hey everyone! You will not believe the week I’m having! It just hasn’t stopped. But in saying that at least I am busy…right?! Four kids just don’t seem to be enough……bring it on I say! I can take it. I’m tough! ………I’m kidding, PLEASE don’t bring on any more….I’m not sure of up and down at the moment. I won’t bore you with my itinerary but I can assure you I have to book in bathroom breaks….LOL!

Anyway onto this weeks challenge-

Makeesha

And of course my creation-

IMG_7566_1

I have to admit the art journal has nothing to do with the bed scene….but I used the colours. Urban Garden DSP matches it beautifully, so I went in that direction.

  • Stamp Set- Jumbo Outline Alphabet and Calendar Alphabet and Numbers
  • Cardstock- Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White and Urban Garden DSP
  • Ink- Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy
  • Accessories- White Taffeta Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, Crimper, Craft Knife, Dimensionals, Cutter Kit and White Gel Pen

Check out the rest of the amazing DT

Well I better be going and do some cards up for the Stamp-A-Stack I am having tonight. Nothing like leaving it to the last minute…don’t you think?

Thanks for dropping by!

Elite Challenge….colour explosion!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to show you the other card I submitted to the Elite Challenge  blog. This one was a colour challenge and you won’t believe it but it was another pink and black challenge….oh and Kiwi Kiss. But the pink was the brightest pink in the SU colour family. Pink Passion.

Now please pop on your sunglasses before you view this one…hehehe!

IMG_7565_2

I love Petal Pizzazz and I have been informed by quite a lot of my visitors that they have now bought or want to buy this stamp set because of my creations I have put up here on my little bit of blogging heaven….hehehe. I have also heard Organic Outlines is becoming one your favourites…… I’m so evil. But if I get even a little of your creative juices flowing I’m happy.

Thanks for dropping by!

How do you do a sunset?

IMG_7551_1

Hey everyone! I am very curious……I have tried doing a sunset image using sponges and 4 different inks and I’m not extremely happy with it……so what colours do you use to make a gorgeous sunset? Also in what order do you use these colours? Let me know all your secrets before I put another poor example up here in blog land…..LOL!

IMG_7550_1

As you can see I have performed the emboss resist technique. I used the brown embossing powder that I picked up the other day among some other fabulous colours. As you know I sponged the background. I used the colours So Saffron, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie and Cameo Coral. Yes I know….. Cameo Coral! (shudder)  Even the name starts my skin tingling…LOL! Maybe that’s where I went wrong. Maybe I should have used a lighter pink…hhmmmmmm! I might have another go.

After the sponging I then used my Chocolate Chip Marker to produce the shadow for the tree and reindeer. Think I stuffed up his back legs, but hey I am still on my learner plates…LOL!

Old Regal Tango!!!

Hey everyone! On the school holidays we visited some friends and you won’t believe it but I took some pics of the kids. It is my new ambition to take more photos of my kids. For the past year I have really slacked off on the photo sessions. Probably because I feel I have to scrap all of them……and my thought process may of been…..if I take less I might be able to catch up with my scrapping!! LOL! Yeah right!

My kids are growing sooo quickly I feel like I have missed a whole year of photos. So to kick it off here are a couple of them-

IMG_7504_1

Isn’t he adorable?! Don’t let the cuteness fool you though he is a little terror to boot as well!

IMG_7513_1

One of my little queen’s taking time out to read.

You wouldn’t think I would do a post without a card did you?? That would be very…..uncrafty……of me! LOL! I have some eye candy of the crafting variety too-

IMG_7547_1

Now you might remember me telling you in the last post about my infatuation with white Staz-On at the moment. Well as you can see I had that play on CS. But when I did it the white was very subtle. definitely not as bright as it is on Acetate. I should have taken a before photo but didn’t think of it. Maybe my pad is a little dry…but whatever the case I ended up going over the top with my white gel pen to brighten it up. I will play with it some more and let you know my mistake……because of course there would have been one…..or two…! LOL!

The colours I used are not my own combo design. I used the In Colour combo chart, ‘Mix it up with Colour’ Check it out! There are some really gorgeous combos there.

Thanks for dropping by!

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #14

IMG_7541_1

Hey everyone! It’s time for another fabulous Inkspiration Sketch Challenge! You know what though, I just cannot pick my favourite type of Inkspiration challenge. But I think I love the variety, a different one each week is just what the mojo craves! LOL!

Here is the sketch-

Makeesha

and my creation…..

IMG_7542_1

At the moment I’m absolutely lovin’ white Staz-On on clear acetate. Actually I’m lovin’ white Staz-On period. I’m playing with it today, stamping it straight onto CS. I will let you know how it turns out.

  • Stamp Set- Inspired by Nature, Flight of the Butterfly and Upsy Daisy
  • Cardstock- Pacific Point, Summer Sun and Whisper White
  • Ink- Summer Sun, Pacific Point, Versa Mark and White Staz-On
  • Accessories- Linen Thread, Clear Embossing Powder, Dimensionals, Corner Rounder Punch and Heat Tool

I know you cannot see it too well, due to my crappy photography, but the sentiment has been clear embossed. I like it when the sentiment stands out a little brighter. I also wanted something else shiny on there with the acetate. I was going to Crystal Effects some of the flowers and grass to give the ‘wet’ look, but decided against it, I think it would look better with the green grass. I went for a meadow theme, and a meadow in my mind has lots of yellow grass and wildflowers amongst them.

I was actually going to ditch this card and try and come up with something else in place of the butterfly but decided to stick true to the sketch. This card also looks a little similar to another Sketch challenge I have done. Do you remember it? But I do love these colours together….What do you think?

Don’t forget to check out the rest of the DT

Well I’m off to go play with my white Staz-On.

Thanks for dropping by!

A cracked affair!

IMG_7536_1

Hey everyone! I finally had a go at cracking an embossed image……I know, I know, what rock have I been under. I saw it quite a while a go when a friend showed me, it was just one of those, ‘I’ll have to have a go at that one day’ things. And so…….today…well yesterday was the day!

Here is the whole card-

IMG_7538_1

I embossed the daisies and the positive image in organic outlines in a green embossing powder out of my own stash. I then did about four to five layers of clear embossing over the daisies and then placed it in the freezer. After a few minutes, pull it out and bend the image til it cracks. I placed a sheet of clear acetate over the black CS and using my white Staz-on, stamped the negative image out of Organic Outlines.

I don’t know about you but I’m just loving the green and black. Also I’m loving this card. What do you think?

Thanks for dropping by!
