I’m still here!

Hey everyone!

I must admit…..I have been a slack blogger these past weeks! But I will also admit I have been one very busy little girl, and I have a doozy of a blog post to share with you all!

I will start with the scheduled post of mine that didn’t publish. It was my submission to the Inkspiration Challenge #85. That little post disappeared into cyberspace and never to return!! LOL! So I apologise for any inconvenience for this little mishap.

I wasn’t totally happy with my card and after I completed it I was like “Oh, I could have done this” or “This would have looked better”. LOL! I have a lot of cards like these, but you know what? It is growing on me. I used one of our new 2011-12 In Color’s, Pool Party and a new Stamp Set available to hostesses only, Ain’t Love Grand, plus one of our new punches, Lace Ribbon Border. This past week a heap of new goodies have arrived on my doorstep and I will show you what I have created over the next few days.

Next up I have some pics of my Catalogue Launch……all three of them. LOL! I held two in Gatton and one in Toowoomba. All one day after the other, the only way to go. I don’t think I got any pics of event number three but it was similar to event number one!

The first one was at my home in Gatton-

The next was in Toowoomba-

As you can see I used the same samples for each, but they look so different in each environment. My little tree was a hit, and you might recognise it from the new catalogue. I didn’t get my new order in time so I made do with what I owned and created similar cards to suit. I totally enjoyed these events and so did the girls. I failed miserably to get shots of the girls from Gatton, which I am sure they are happy about lol, but I did get some of the Toowoomba girls, bar a couple of shy ones!! LOL!

Okay the last event is the doozy, the hum dinger, the event of all events. The Brisbane Papercraft Festival. It is a three-day event at the RNA Showgrounds, which is usually held in February but due to the floods earlier this year was pushed back to September. My upline Madonna Dunn was the coordinator behind this and did an awesome amount of work to make this happen for us. Thanks Mads! I only managed to do one day out of the three but I was able to spend a full day with Mads previous to the event to make a heap of samples. It was agreat day too, lots of side-splitting laughter and food (thanks Mark)….oh and some crafting!

Here is a pic of the display-

Isn’t it fabulous?! I Love the big butterfly colour display, that was Mads creation. You might even recognise my little butterfly tree in there too.

We all took turns at demonstrating, talking and helping with the make and takes. My demonstration was on punch art. I made some cute owls and flowers. It seemed to be popular and people were looking at the Owl Builder punch in a whole new way! I also got to meet some lovely ladies who, would you believe it?, love to stamp. I love that.

Anyhow, that’s what I have been up to. Now I hope to sit down for a few days and create madly with all my new goodies! Would you like to see my stash?? What a silly question.

Any requests?? LOL!

Inkspirations Challenge #79

Hello everyone!

Before I get started on this weeks challenge particulars, I want to say a HUGE thank you to all my followers and commentors! I have now reached over 200 followers and I am just flabbergasted. It was only just a short time ago that I was giving a card away to the 150th follower. As most of you know my blogging has been….well, a little slim. I hope to turn this around this coming week and start blogging a lot more regularly. Things in my life have been a little difficult of late {I won’t go into particulars as there were quite a few challenges}, and I am starting to turn a new corner. But the support you guys give me boosts my spirits and makes me smile….a lot!

So I will be randomly choosing a subscriber to receive this weeks creation for the Inkspiration challenge. I will let you know the winner tomorrow……see good incentive to post again! LOL!

Okay, this week is a sketch

my submission…

I realised I haven’t played with the owl punch nearly enough, so I pulled it out. Isn’t she just the cutest?!

I have been seeing quite a few cards with circles in the back ground used as accents and I am loving it. Might do some more. More blog post gold! lol!

My Stampin’ Up! colour combo is Regal Rose, Soft Suede and So Saffron. Love this combo for girl birthday cards.

Now there is one more thing I would like to share with you all today. Last week I bought a new pet. He wasn’t an impulse purchase as we {my family} have been discussing it for a while. But we just were not sure what breed we would go with. But when I met this fellow I just had to have him.

So without further ado I introduce you to CHARLIE BROWN!

He is just the sweetest bird. He is hand raised and he gives the softest kisses and nibbles and I think he starting to copy my laugh!! LOL! He is a Rainbow Lorikeet and has the most amazing bright feathers. Under his wings is the most brightest red I think I have ever seen! In this shot he was entertaining us with his dancing on my crafting desk so his head is a little blurry. When I have some better pics I will post them.

Anyhoo! Don’t forget to check out the rest of the DT and post your submission over at the Inkspirations Challenge Blog. I would love to see what you have created.

Inkspiration Challenge #78

Hey everyone!

It is colour challenge time!

I had a lovely play with the distressing essentials kit on this one. I actually made this card back in June and was my first play with the kit. I don’t think I did too badly…LOL! But hey, practise makes perfect. I love the end result though….and these colours are right up my alley! To colour my image I used and a Blender pen and my wonder crayons, I love these things. They are so easy to colour with.

Inkspiration Challenge #68

Hey everyone!

Time for another Inkspiration challenge, this week it is a colour challenge and the colours are of a subtle variety.

They are my favourite subtle colours…..except the blue, I lean more towards the Baja Breeze for a blue. Not sure why, I just do. LOL!

Here’s my submission,

I hadn’t played with the For Everything stamp set for a while, it also suited the subtles perfectly. I stamped the sentiment and embossed it in white. I then coloured in the word Thanks with a white gel pen. I could have also used the embossing pen and white embossed again. My way was the lazy way! LOL! I used a blender pen to colour my images and of course a Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the stems and leaves. This card is actually quite pretty in real life. My photos just could not capture the beauty!! LOL!

Don’t forget to head over to the Inkspirations Challenge Blog and check out the rest of the DT and have a play with our challenge.

Mother’s Day is Coming!!!

Hey everyone!

Can you believe we are half-way through March already?! This year seems to be going much quicker than last. I’m not trying to make the year go faster by doing Mother’s Day projects, but next month I want to concentrate on the Autumn\Winter Mini Catalogue Launch. So here is some piccy’s of my upcoming workshop.

I love the combo of Rich Razzleberry, Tempting turquoise and Certainly Celery. From memory I did the Star Box in the same colours! So bright and vibrant. I have seen a few different versions of this box/purse. But I found this tutorial by Tami White on YouTube that shows a quick simple version. Super cute huh?!  It’s a very good size for Pandora/Chamilia packages or any type of jewellery. I’m not sure about you but when I have teeny tiny gifts they are hard to wrap or package nicely. I find making little packages like this are simply perfect.

If you are local to me and would like to create this project….email me and I will book you in OR if you would like to order the product to make your own at home email me and I will have the goodies delivered straight to your door!

Inkspirations Challenge #59

Hey everyone!

For this weeks Inkspiration Challenge I was tossing up between a card or a scrap page because of the square nature of the sketch. But I had great visions for the Easter Blossoms set and had to make it!

Here is this weeks sketch~

See, that would make a nice scrapbook LO don’t you think? Oh well next time……. I promise when there is another square-shaped sketch I will do a LO…..here’s hoping I can do it now! LOL!

I discovered another cool trick with tissue paper too. Other people have already probably done it, but I haven’t seen it so I thought I would share it with you all. Do you notice my BG that looks like patterned paper? Well it’s not…..it is a base of Rich Razzleberry and I scrunched up a piece of tissue paper, spread it back out and then used the Anywhere Glue Stick to stick it down on the RR. Screwing it up gives it a bit of texture. I then stamped the blossom branch from the Easter Blossoms SS all over the tissue paper in Early Espresso. It all started because I didn’t like how strong the RR was coming across. I know you cannot see it as much but I love the effect, perfect for vintage cards. It is a bit like the Faux Silk Technique but in reverse…LOL! What about you….do you think you will have a go at it? If you do let me know so I can see what you come up with!

Also you may have noticed the little girls basket. I decided against the eggs and stamped the blossom again and you may notice up the top the rather large bunch of blossoms I coloured them and cut them out and put them on the basket. I am rather pleased with how this turned out….might just be my new favourite.

Make sure you have a play and submit your entry over at the Inkspirations Challenge Blog

Sweet Sunday Sketch #77

Hey everyone!

I’m back again! Can you believe it?? LOL! As it turned out the next challenge didn’t take all day so I am able to post this one today!

I decided to play with Karen’s Sweet Sunday Sketch (for the first time, mind you).

Bit cute isn’t it?! It took me about 10 minutes to choose which stamp set to use. I wanted to go girly cute but my fingers kept reaching for Winter Post. So let’s call this one “Christmas in July”

I love this set! I clear embossed the skaters with Sahara Sand Ink and then used my blender pens to colour them. I am also loving this colour combo. I used it a lot for last years Chrissy Cards.

Well I want to go forth and create more so while the goings good I best be going.

Rich and Crazy!

Hey everyone!

What a wet week it has been here! It is absolutely fabulous getting all this rain and will do wonderful things for our local farming community. But when we get more than normal rain fall here my yard floods. So anytime we need to go anywhere we have to go for a swim first to get to the horseless carriage! LOL! Yesterday it finally was dry enough to mow but towards the end it was raining again. But we kept on going just in case we didn’t get another chance.

I have another card to show you from the retreat. I took advantage of playing with sets that I don’t own while I was there, hence the SOCK MONKEY card. I challenged myself to use that card as it is a set that I am afraid to say I find to hard to use! But if you want to see some fabulous cards made with it, go to Karens blog! Karen does some awesome cards with that young fella and he has been nicknamed Hank. I don’t own the Crazy for Cupcakes set either and that is what I used on this card.

What do you think? I like the combo I have used here quite a lot. It is also a little sneak peek into one of the new colours we will get to play with from the new mini. I will talk about that a little bit later! The second colour is Apricot Appeal. It is one of those colours I don’t use very often. But you may have already noticed that! Well I best be off to do some creating. I will be having a late one with Theresa so hopefully will have something new to show soon.
