Finally a Rosette!
Hello everyone!
This is the very last card I created at retreat, there is no more to show. I will have to show you what I have been making at home for the past couple weeks next time.
This card wasn’t a challenge, but I saw someone else make one and decided to make my own. These rosettes seem to be the “in thing” at the moment and I can’t miss out on it. LOL!
I used the stamp set Spiced Paisley and Fabulous Phrases. Colours used are Soft Suede, Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz and More Mustard. The designer brad is a Pool Party Printed brad. I think I might make some more cards with this rosette, I think it is awfully cute! LOL!
Best Dad Birthday!
Hey everyone!
Before I show you todays delicious stamping eye candy I just wanted to thank everyone for their well wishes for a happier 2012 for the Brown family on my last post. I wish you all a fabulous and prosperous 2012 as well. I plan on making this year less stressful. I am going to cut back on some things and do more of others. I just have to figure out exactly what those things are! LOL!
I know one of them would be to join another DT because I am already missing Inkspirations. I love challenges. So I am going to keep my eye out for that one.
Speaking of challenges the card I am showing you today was the last card I made for Inkspirations but we finished with challenge #100 this one was #101 and it was a colour challenge. Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso, Marina Most and Whisper White
I love this combo! I am also very happy with how this one turned out. Hopefully my dad will like it too.
Another challenge I have set my self is to get back into my scrapping a bit more. I miss my scrapping nights and hope to restart them. There is nothing like getting together with other scrappers and spend a night a week scrapping into the wee hours of the morn. A lot of chocolate was consumed on those nights. LOL! Maybe that’s what I am missing?! hahaha!
Inkspirations Challenge #84
Hey everyone!
It’s colour challenge time and this ones a doozy!! I was completely stumped with them and had a couple attempts at it. Of course these other attempts will never see the light of day! LOL! I do like the end result though.

A funky little ensemble, dont you think? Quite a while ago in Stampin’ Up!’s Impression Magazine {only available to demonstrators}, they shared a technique with us, which I have finally got round to doing! LOL! It was about mixing two different coloured embossing powders to give a very different look! The magazine showed us Black and white mixed together and was quite impressive. I did however want the Concord Crush showing through the embossing and opted to mix Clear and Silver.
Here’s a closer look

Gives quite a different look doesn’t it? I might have a go at mixing some other colours and see what happens!

Inkspirations Challenge #77
Hey everyone!
It’s Inkspiration time! unfortunately my crafting has not ‘got the flow’ if you know what I mean……probably not so let me explain. When I start a card I don’t always have the end result in my head. It starts with a colour or stamp set. Gradually different ideas form as I work as I think what would suit the look I want and also the element that would make the card ‘pop’. Some very good elements and accents come out of this process. This is what I mean about missing mojo. You may have heard me mention about this before. So at this moment that flow is not happening and I get stuck on things and I now rush the card to get it finished in time for deadlines {which I think I was late for anyway….bugger!}. Oh well! Hopefully it will come back to me. Wish me luck! LOL!
Okay so the sketch for this week is
I don’t know I am just not feelin’ it! It’s a nice enough card but I know it’s not the best I could do with it! LOL!
It is our neighbours sons 1st birthday this weekend, hence the theme. I am sure they will love it.
I glittered the dragonflies wings with dazzling diamonds and made the red beetle nice and shiny with crystal effects! They were meant to make the card ‘pop’…LOL!

Inkspiration Challenge #71
Hey everyone!
This weeks Inkspiration was a little tough for me…..I am not even sure why. It is a gorgeous sketch and easy to work with….maybe it was all the options that were leaping at me as soon as I saw it. It is hard to narrow it down sometimes. I also picked up a couple of tricks at convention I wanted to try. Teneale’s ruffled ribbon and Delys’s Shimmer paint and chalk mix. The perfect set to combine these techniques was the Nature Walk set.
Here’s a closer look at that fabulous bird
To colour him in I mixed Not Quite Navy Chalk with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint. After the initial all-over coat. I dabbed the bird with the brush to give more texture. I then used an Early Espresso and Crumb Cake marker to colour his beak and feet in. So simple but so effective. Thanks girls for all the inspiration at convention. I am full of ideas, I just now have to adapt them to my projects. All the DSP is from the coordinating pack Botanical Gazette. Love this paper and must buy more.
Well I hope you have a chance to play and head over to the Inkspiration Challenge Blog to submit your creation and check out the rest of the DT.
Inkspirations Challenge #63
Hey everyone!
It’s Inkspiration time, and this time it is a sketch. I had a lot of fun with this one. Maybe it’s because I got to ink up some new rubbah! LOL! Tonight people, I am giving you a sneak peek at a stamp set that will be soon released on April 1st in the new Autumn\Winter Mini. I absolutely adore this SS and the coordinating DSP. I haven’t used the DSP on this card but I am sure in no time I will have it all consumed and I will be buying some more.
I haven’t played with the cracked glass technique in a while so I thought I would with this challenge as there is a panel on the sketch that is perfect for this technique. I love, love, LOVE this technique. Take a look at the sketch-
The colours were selected from the Colour Coach. Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler and Baja Breeze. I added the Dynamic Duo, Basic Grey as well. There is also a teeny bit of Perfect Plum as I needed a fifth colour. Can you spot it? LOL!
A little close up of the cracked glass panel. After cracking the panel I like to rub some ink over it. It gets caught in the cracks and gives them more emphasis. Now my panel does look a little yellow but that is because I sponged Crumb Cake ink over the panel before clear embossing. It looks a little like I have burnt the embossing, doesn’t it?! Oh well you live and learn! LOL! The three panels behind were stamped randomly then spritzed with Basic Black. I love this tool. I find I am using it a lot lately.
Well I hope I have inspired you to create and have a play with this weeks Inkspiration challenge and I hope to see your submission soon.

Feeling a little Grungy!!
Hey everyone!
I had a fabulous day today! I created a couple of cards, I had awesome company {waving at Andrea} and I took some very cute photos of my son, Darcy and his cute little girlfriend Ava.
The card I am showing you today had been sitting on my desk for about a month……not the whole thing of course or I would have blogged it. Have you ever started a card and thought….Hmmmmm it needs something….but OMG!!! I don’t have it. So you buy it just to finish it? Well in this case I needed the Smooch Spritz in silver foil colour and I am so glad I waited. LOL!
I really like this one!! A LOT! There is a lot going on more than you probably realise. The base piece is Naturals Ivory. I clear embossed the diamond pattern stamp from the Grunge Rock set, scrunched up the CS, then smooch spritzed it then ‘tapped’ the real red ink pad over the top. Pretty nice huh?
I ruffled the Black ribbon and stapled it into place. I love this effect and think it suits the style well.
Okay…..now I have to show you a couple of these photos I took today. But first a little BG. We first met the Francis family when Darcy and Ava were a few months old. Ava’s sister, Sahmara, is best friends with my youngest girl Akayla and Ava’s Mum, Andrea, is my good friend and scrapping buddy.
We have always joked about Ava and Darcy being an item…….but not this early!! LOL!
They were super funny. Ava was playing with some lipstick and dolled herself up just a little bit. Darcy also wanted it on so Ava obliged. Ava did inform us though that Darcy’s lippy was a bit messy and hers was just perfect..LOL! We of course had to take some piccy’s…..and look what happened next……
We didn’t want that lipstick to go to waste now did we?! Oh how CUTE!!!
Well that’s all from me today…..I fell like making another card!
Inkspirations Challenge #61
Hey everyone!
It’s Inkspiration time ladies, We have a sketch for you this week and it is super easy and adaptable to just about any stamp set.
I might even have another play with it.
I kept this one real simple, LUV simple and I love this card.
Here’s my super cute monster
I’m sure you remember my little grumble about Wild Wasabi last week and how I barely play with it and I’m not sure what to do with it…..well I decided to play with it. Do you know how well it goes with Garden Green (another one of those colours I don’t play with) and Crumb Cake?! Which happens to be some of the colours in the Woodland Walk collection. These papers are just gorgeous. I wasn’t sure of them at first but I have fallen in love with them.

Inkspiration Challenge #58
Hey everyone!
I love this weeks funky colours! Absolutely awesome for a boy card. As soon as I saw the colours I automatically reached for my Extreme Elements set. I don’t play with it nearly enough…LOL!
I actually managed to keep this card fairly simple. I surprised myself actually! I won’t tell you how I debated over it for two days whether to add more layers or not……LOL!
If you look closely enough at the skateboarder you may notice he is smudged a little. I wanted to give the impression of movement. It was quite easy. All I did was when I stamped him and before you lift the stamp off the page I “dragged” him to the left (the direction the skateboarder is coming from) just a cm or two. Very simple! I like this card a lot….what do you think?
Make sure you go to Inkspirations Challenge Blog and submit your creation so we can check it out!
Don’t forget to have a look at the rest of the DT, they all have something fabulous to share!

Grunge Rock!
Hey everyone!
I thought I would share with you all one of the projects from my Mini catalogue Launch. I liked this one quite a lot actually and it was super quick and easy to put together and to top it off it is a male birthday card! It’s not very often I make one of those for this here blog! I already have the perfect recipient. I just have to make sure I don’t lose it! You are probably thinking how can she lose it? Trust me….I do it a lot….unless of course I have a fairy card thief. I might just see if I can catch one and send it on over to Karen Thomas’s house to steal some cards for me. LOL! Sorry I couldn’t help it! I just love Karen’s cards so much that I would stoop to thievery!
Anyway here is my card-
See I told you it was super easy. Well I hope I have inspired you to pull out Grunge Rock and have a play because as I have just realised card making is super fun and calming. Actually, I think it has a lot to do with the fact my son just started Kindy this week and that might explain the high volume of card making and blog posts this week! LOL!
