Everything Eleanor!

Hello everyone!

Everything Eleanor would have to be my favourite stamp set out of the 2012-13 SU catalogue. It is simply gorgeous. It has a variety of solid, silhouette and line art images. I love this sort of variety, very similar to Elements of Style and Creative Elements, which you all know I use a fair bit of both of those sets. So really is it any surprise?! LOL

I had a play with two cards using the same colour combo but mixing it up.

I think this is my favourite, but I always have loved red flowers.

After creating them and sitting back to have a look at them I realised that the birds look like they are ‘pooping’ the pearls. LOL!! It was not meant to look like that, I can assure you.

I also like the Natural Composition SDSP quite a lot and can see me using this a lot too.

So…..it has been a very long time since I have made a card and this one (two), could be my jumping block to get started again. We’ll see! So don’t be shy, what do you think of my ‘return from mega long card making holiday’ creations? Let me know which one is your favourite!

Festive Friday Challenge #26

Hello everyone!

It’s time again for a Festive Friday Challenge and this week it is a Colour Challenge.

I love these tones together and if I could make every card in these I would be a happy girl! LOL!

I now have a love affair going with the Elizabeth stamp set. It’s not only great for the placement of the sentiment but also a good background element if stamped in the right places. I also love the two little banners underneath the vintage brad. They are a cute little element, but they are not too distracting that it draws your eye away from the main image.

I hope you all have a chance to play along this week and share with us what you have created.

Baby Onesie Cuteness!

Hello everyone!

A couple of years ago my Mum asked me to whip up for her 2 huge cards that her and all her fellow staff could sign for maternity leaving staff. Do you remember them? There was a yellow one with a kangaroo on front and a green one with a hot air balloon on the front. Well, Mum has asked for another one. And I think this is my favourite one by far. I must apologise though I took these photos at night and the quality is a little poor.

Here is a close up of the main image

It is the Elebration stamp and again I have covered the cake with a present that I handmade. It makes this stamp so much more flexible. I also used the ABC block stamp from Little Additions and clear embossed it on the base. Colours used are Wild wasabi, Bashful Blue, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and Naturals Ivory cardstock for the base.

For the Love of Framelits!!

Hello everyone!

What a weekend I have had….actually make that a week! My youngest has come down with a middle ear infection, poor little thing, he was crying so hard and was inconsolable. I HATE that. You feel so useless and you cannot take their pain away. We are just super lucky our Doctor opens at 8am on a Sunday and we can come in without appointment. We got in straight away without waiting and it was our Doctor that was rostered on that weekend too. Extra bonus!! I love our Doctor! It is so hard to find a good one, especially one so good with kids…….Gee I can go on can’t I?!

Anyway, I have this super cute card to share. I made this a little while ago, I actually made a few of them I liked it so much. My new love is the Framelits Dies and matching Stamp Set Apothecary Art. I just wish I had more time to play! LOL!

I used colours Blushing Bride, Regal Rose and Crumb Cake to colour in the Image using a Aqua Painter. I used Water Colour paper for the image and Very Vanilla for the base and textured section. I also used some of the lusciousness that is Blushing Bride Pleated Stain Ribbon. Love these ribbons.

Everybunny!

Hello everyone!

I still have heaps of retreat creations to share…so don’t go anywhere. I managed to play with a set that I thought wouldn’t interest me. It was another challenge set by Mads. It was Make a card with a stamp set that pushes our boundaries, something that isn’t normally your style. I chose Everybunny for a couple of reasons. Watercolouring an image has never been one of my stronger suits and I don’t do Easter Cards. I have made one before for a workshop, but I have never made one to give to someone else. For the challenge we could earn extra points if we used our least favourite colour. Well I forego those extra points and used my favourite colour,  Calypso Coral. LOL!

This card is actually prettier than it looks in this photo, but you het the general idea. It is probably one of my favourite cards from the weekend and I will now be buying the Everybunny Stamp Set! LOL!

First Play with Open Sea

Hello everyone!

Here is another card from my little retreat weekend. I also got to have my first play with the stamp set Open Sea. This set is just gorgeous for the adult male and I think I will be hanging on to this one, even after it retires.

This wasn’t a challenge, but I did use my Colour Coach to help me pick a combo. Have I told you before I love this tool

It has all the colour collections from Stampin’ Up! minus the In colors. You can buy these to add to the coach if you like.  It is a great tool to help give you inspiration or help you pick a complimentary colour for the one you have already chosen. It also tells what each colour Dynamic Duo is. It gives two combos per colour, so that is 80 colour combos 100 if you add the In color chips. See endless creating with perfect colour combos.

Anyway, I will be back again soon to share more cards with you.

Inkspirations Challenge #76

Hey everyone!

Can you believe it’s Inkspiration time already?! Time is just flying by. I have lots to do and no time to do it in! LOL! This weeks challenge is a colour challenge and it was a bit of a toughy! I’m not a huge Poppy Parade player. But hey it’s not called a challenge for nothing.

Here’s the colours

I had a play with watercolouring, followed by Shimmer Painting!

It’s quite basic, but I don’t mind how it turned out. I did a little masking, a little colouring, and daubed the two main flowers with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint. I did use Baja Breeze….I promise! I coloured it lightly over the leaves….can you see it, well can you?! LOL!

Don’t forget to head on over the Inkspirations Challenge Blog to submit your creation and check out the rest of the DT.

Inkspiration Challenge #64

Hey everyone!

We have a challenge this week that will really have your brain ticking over LOL! When I first saw it I thought there was no possible way that I would be able to come up with anything. I must say I really surprised myself as I haven’t picked up a stamp for over a week. Check out the challenge

I pulled out a set I haven’t played with much, but I really love.

I really love this. It is very simple, I know……butI think it’s cute and fun! LOL!

Isn’t Cajun Craze so very yummy?! It actually reminds me of the colour of tea. It goes so well with More Mustard and I did stuggle a little with the Poppy Parade, but I managed to put some in there on the cup and a strip of CS.

I hope you challenge yourself and give this combo a go…..just to prove you can do it! LOL! Submit your design at Inkspirations Challenge Blog

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #57

Hey everyone!

It’s Inkspiration time and I have to say I fell in love with this sketch instantly. So many possibilities……I love having lots of options LOL! This time though I wanted to play with a colour I don’t often reach for. I have a few of them you know!! Like Poppy Parade and Bravo Burgundy. Peach Parfait is on this list too and well it ended up being the colour of choice. The verdict~ I love it and will be using it more often.

This weeks sketch~

and my submission~

Don’t you just love this colour combo? So fresh and striking. Of course I would try to turn them into a vintage feel, LOL! I also found a new technique (well I don’t think it’s necessarily new but it’s the first time I did it). I could not find my sponges (have I told you lately I am losing the plot?) so instead of pulling my hair out looking for them I decided to use tissues to sponge the ink on the edges of the CS. It seems to give it a more mottled effect and I love it. If you haven’t done it before have a go!

I do love the effect of embossing in black and then watercolouring on Crumb Cake CS. I especially love doing it with the Elements of Style SS. What do you think? I might have a play later on with other colours. Make some suggestions and I might just make it for you!

Anyway check out the rest of the DT and don’t forget to go to the Inkspirations Challenge Blog to submit your creation!

A Holiday Lineup with a birthday attached!

Hey everyone!

I will start with saying a big hello and thank you to one of my downline Jodie!! ;-) Jodie came to visit me yesterday to chat and stamp. Not a lot of stamping got done though…..I managed to make one card while Jodie stamped and punched a whole heap of goodies for Christmas. BTW I want to see what you are creating with those Jodie!! LOL!

Jodie sat there watching me botch my card up over and over and left before she could see the end result. I just couldn’t make up my mind. But I think she will be pleasantly surprised to see what I ended up with. You might even say she would LOVE to receive this card in the mail for Chrissy!!! ROFLOL!!! Sorry personal joke!!

Anyway here it is

Pretty cute HUH! I love it actually! You might not be able to see but I used the Gold Glow Smooch Spritz on the base of the card. I think I am in love with this stuff….this stuff really glows.

On another note my youngest girl had her birthday on the 2nd of December and she turned 7. I cannot believe how fast they are all growing, I would love for things to slow down a bit, but I now that won’t happen.

Can you guess what she got for her birthday?! Can you also guess that she loves pink?! She was very happy I can assure you.

And of course there was cake!

So there you go, we won’t mention that we were one candle short on the birthday cake….whoops…. LOL! I must say though she had a wonderful day, we even organised ice-creams to share with her class on the day. We had her best friend over for the afternoon and had hotdogs for dinner. What a day! Then that night we attended the Graduation Service where Sean handed over his Community Captaincy roll over to the new year sevens for next year. I cannot believe he is off to high school next year! Where…and I mean really where does the time go?
