Inkspirations Challenge #61

Hey everyone!

It’s Inkspiration time ladies, We have a sketch for you this week and it is super easy and adaptable to just about any stamp set.

I might even have another play with it.

I kept this one real simple, LUV simple and I love this card.

Here’s my super cute monster

I’m sure you remember my little grumble about Wild Wasabi last week and how I barely play with it and I’m not sure what to do with it…..well I decided to play with it. Do you know how well it goes with Garden Green (another one of those colours I don’t play with) and Crumb Cake?! Which happens to be some of the colours in the Woodland Walk collection. These papers are just gorgeous. I wasn’t sure of them at first but I have fallen in love with them.

Don’t forget to play along over at the Inkspirations Challenge Blog and upload your creation for all to see!

Inkspirations Challenge #60

Hey everyone!

It’s time for another colour challenge and I have to say I struggled with this one. Wild Wasabi has always been a hard nut for me to crack. Not sure why…it’s a lovely green, I just cannot make it work well with other colours. Oh well…. you be the judge and let me know what you think.

I don’t know…..I think the main panel needs work ……or changing, or something LOL! It is definitely different to what I usually do, but that’s a good thing. It’s great to have a play with things. You won’t learn anything if you don’t. This time round I have learnt I need to practise sponging some more. LOL!

I would love to see what you create with these colour so make sure you pop on over to Inkspirations  Challenge blog and link your creation up.

Don’t forget to check out the rest of the DT too

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #57

Hey everyone!

It’s Inkspiration time and I have to say I fell in love with this sketch instantly. So many possibilities……I love having lots of options LOL! This time though I wanted to play with a colour I don’t often reach for. I have a few of them you know!! Like Poppy Parade and Bravo Burgundy. Peach Parfait is on this list too and well it ended up being the colour of choice. The verdict~ I love it and will be using it more often.

This weeks sketch~

and my submission~

Don’t you just love this colour combo? So fresh and striking. Of course I would try to turn them into a vintage feel, LOL! I also found a new technique (well I don’t think it’s necessarily new but it’s the first time I did it). I could not find my sponges (have I told you lately I am losing the plot?) so instead of pulling my hair out looking for them I decided to use tissues to sponge the ink on the edges of the CS. It seems to give it a more mottled effect and I love it. If you haven’t done it before have a go!

I do love the effect of embossing in black and then watercolouring on Crumb Cake CS. I especially love doing it with the Elements of Style SS. What do you think? I might have a play later on with other colours. Make some suggestions and I might just make it for you!

Anyway check out the rest of the DT and don’t forget to go to the Inkspirations Challenge Blog to submit your creation!

Inkspirations Colour Challenge #34

Hey everyone!

Well, when you think about it, Christmas is not too far away! It makes me wonder where has this year gone???! I remember as a child that time just seemed to stand still. I think when you are a kid you are always in such a hurry trying to experience all sorts of things and sometimes that also meant growing up. But now, when you have your own kids, you want things to slow down so you can enjoy those precious gems a little longer…….I think I have gone way off track here but I think what I am trying to say is if I don’t start my Christmas cards now, it will be too late and they will not get done and I might have to…….some people might want to close their eyes at this point as I am about to swear!!!…….BUY Christmas cards to post! LOL!

Anyway here is this weeks colour combo

We have also the added challenge from Sarah-Jane this month to make a card with buttons. I love buttons so that was easy! Also Sarah-Jane is hosting this week so make your way to Sarah’s blog to submit your Inspiration.

As you can see I tried the Vintage look! I don’t think I did enough on the middle panel. What do you think??

  • Stamp Set- Winter Post, Christmas Classics
  • Cardstock- Kraft, More Mustard, Not Quite Navy
  • Ink-Close to Cocoa, Versa Mark, More Mustard
  • Accessories- Colour Spritzer, Sponges, SAMJ, Mat Pack, Beachfront Ribbon Originals (retired), Linen Thread, Kraft Corduroy Button, Cutter Kit

Army Card!

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to pop on here and show you all a card I made a couple of months ago for a young boy who is totally Army mad! I also wanted to test my new watermark as you can see I haven’t been protecting my photos of my work ever since I changed comps and I finally sat down last night and made my watermark…..and it was sooooo easy!! I should have done it earlier.

There that’s better!!

Now for my absence……trust me it’s a good excuse! As most of you know I am currently organising a fundraiser for RACQ CareFlight, as we required their services earlier this year and I know I didn’t go into detail with you all about what happened but at the time I was not in a good place emotionally. I can now tell you that we nearly lost our youngest son to drowning in a cement water tank. He is totally okay, he didn’t suffer any long-term damage and was also very lucky to stave off any infections. We all are currently much better emotionally and my family and the close friends involved received counselling to help us get there. I think preparing this fundraiser has helped even more! I have received so much support and help from my fellow demonstrators, who are all my friends, since the event and I appreciate every single one of them! They are all now helping again by donating Stampin’ Up! product, ideas and their time for the fabulous fundraiser that will go live on the 4th September 2010! I am super excited!

RACQ CareFlight is an awesome service that relies heavily on donations and fundraisers such as mine and I am very excited that I can give just a little bit back, as it wasn’t just the service we received but also the flight crew’s support and love that they gave us on the day! As you could probably imagine I was a mess on the day! I also cannot forget the local Ambulance crew either. Just simply the best! They do a remarkable job and I appreciate them so.

I will be posting soon about the event I will be holding here in Gatton in more detail but be assured there will be fabulous projects and prizes and beautiful handmade projects to buy! And don’t forget I am auctioning off my Hubby!! LOL! I will let you know more about that later!
