I haven’t done one of these in quite a while! What have I been doing?! I would always do these religiously, and sometimes couldn’t wait for the next one. Well I’mmmm Baaack! Ready for another awesome colour challenge.
I like this one very much! This is the first card I have made for pleasure in a couple of weeks and I really enjoyed making it. I like the colours a lot, so I am most likely to do more cards in this combo……. If my beautiful, wonderful children will let me. I’m sure most of you know what I mean! LOL
Looking for a creative mind to replace own! Current model on the blink. If you are sick of your creative genius I have a good home. Please call asap!
LOL! That’s right I have lost all my mojo. I want to do it but cannot string two thoughts together. It is so unsatisfactory! I suppose it has something to do with being tired….. I will use that excuse for now.
My mum visited yesterday wanting to do a “nearly 50″ birthday card…… That poor lady! So while helping mum with that I decided to CASE the card Karen Thomas did a few days ago. I do not have the Authentic SS so used Bronc Buster instead. I loved Karen’s colours so much I used them too…….SEE no creative brain left.
I’m hoping to create something of my own today. Wish me luck! I’m gonna need it.
When Darcy was just a young bub, and once Sean came home from school they would have some time out on the couch. Usually involving Darcy receiving a tickle on the foot. Even now they have the same time together, whether it be hanging out in the backyard riding bikes or just playing a game inside. It is just their “Boy time”.
It is a very basic page as you can see but loads of fun to do. Isn’t it great when you can whip them up quick???LOL
I have just noticed I haven’t blogged for 5 days…….Oh my Gosh! What have I been doing! I will tell you what I have been doing. I have been preparing for the four workshops that I have this weekend. One in Brisbane, one in Toowoomba, one in Gatton and one in Toogoolawah. What a busy girl I’m going to be!!! But what fun at the same time.
I did manage though to take some time out and catch up with my upline Madonna Dunn. I had a great time and I received an awesome gift from my upline. Something I will use at every workshop. It is the easel that you can see a little bit of in the pic. Aren’t I a lucky girl?! It was a particularly special vusit also because I finally got to meet Lara. She is soooo cute and Oh! that baby smell is so delicious isn’t it, but rest assured I did not have urge to reproduce again! LOL My four will do me fine.
While there in between chatting and cuddling baby I managed to get two cards done. I tell you though, I was struggling. The one shown was basically a challenge we set ourselves. I mentioned to Madonna that I have never used the SU Colour Wheel. There is a good reason for that though. When using the colour wheel you point the arrow to the main colour you wish to work with and it shows you four other colours to go with it. That is my problem I’m a three colour girl. It keeps it simple and I can easily work with three colours that go together, but five! Makes me think and work harder…LOL.
I also mentioned I wanted to play with my newly acquired Water Colour pencils. So we chose a SS that we could water colour (Fishy Friends), then colours that suited. We ended up with Taken with Teal, Tempting Turquoise, Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery and Oh my God! Cameo Coral! Yes that’s right I was troubled with the fact I had to add Cameo Coral! But it was a challenge I will not for go a challenge! LOL
So that is three challenges in one. The colour wheel, the technique and the fact I had to use Cameo Coral. I know it’s not a lot by the way but hey! it’s on there…lol. I had a ball and I absolutely adored Madonna’s gorgeous card. I’m sure she will post her creation up soon….
The other card I did was for one of my weekend workshops. I will show that one another day. I will tell you this though. It took me a few attempts to get to it. I must have used all my creative energy on that blasted Cameo Coral!!! LMAO
It is so painful and gut wrenching to see our fellow Aussies in such pain and despair after the loss of loved ones, their homes, beloved pets, and not too mention all their belongings. And don’t forget the Wildlife. To think that we have lost over a million animals in this fire is so saddening. The amount of damage these fires have done is insurmountable. And to hear that most of these fires were started deliberately is even more upsetting. My SIL lives down in Healesville and has been safe so far but they are on alert today as alot of embers are flying around. Praying to God now that those winds keep down.
What I would like to tell you about now is that Stampin’ Up have decided they would like to help the victims of fire ravaged Victoria.
From the 12th February to the 30th of March 2009, Stampin’ Up! will donate 50 percent of the retail value of all sales from a select group of ten stamp sets to the Australian Red Cross Victorian Bushfires 2009 Appeal.

*denotes that these sets are retiring and will not be available in the new catalogue due for release in April. So get them while you can. I will be very sad to see Bodacious Bouquet go. It was one of my faves! As most of you know.
**denotes that this set is in the Summer Mini Catalogue.
I will be back tomorrow with some fabulous cards to show.
Now you might be able to tell that I CASED this one from the Summer Mini catalogue. The link to that catalogue is on the right of the blog page. Go check it out, it is absolutely gorgeous. The papers are divine and so are the new punches and matching stamp sets.
This is one of the cards I’m doing for a workshop, it is a little different from the catalogue. I added the heart stamp and the card is a normal sized card. The one in the catty is like a love note size. I’m not entirely happy with mine so that’s why I’m asking you guys again for some input. I loved the suggestions I received on the last card and I’m giving them a go today. Thank you ladies
I think it is cute, but maybe a little off balance?? Let me know what you think.
I have done some cards up to teach at workshops and I’m not sure if they are suitable. So now I have decided to ask my blogging buddies what they would do? So come on help me out ladies and gents. I will post a card a day for three days and I would like to know what you think. Just leave a comment under my post. Todays card is for a group of ladies who want to learn more on embossing. They are very capable stampers, so I have decided to do the Emboss Resist technique.
I inked the seahorse stamp out of the Ocean Commotion SS in Versa Mark and then the Chocolate Chip before stamping the image onto Whisper White CS. I then sponged So Saffron over the entire piece of CS, then Certainly Celery and then a light sponging of Chocolate Chip on the edges. When it was all the right tones I stamped second generation Chocolate Chip seaweed swirls around the edge. The bigger Certainly Celery CS is just stamped randomly with the swirl stamp. Would you like to learn something like this? Would you change it? It will be great to get some feedback because not everyone likes the same thing.
I cannot wait to read your replies…..
Yep.. that’s right these three little rascals are my world and I cannot imagine life without each and every one of them. This page is fairly basic but the photos are so beautiful it didn’t need anything much to put this together. We try to get professional photos at least every two years, whether it be through the school or through Pixi Photo. These were done at Pixi. And as you can see they take more ‘realxing’ photos now. I was totally over the suitcase and metal bucket!!! Also just letting you know they are finally digital (where we are anyway), so you can see your pics straight away and choose your free ones without guessing which ones were the best. I hated not knowing what I had chosen as my big photo and going on what the photographer said didn’t ease my choice either. I don’t like statue posed photos. I love them more relaxed. I love them even more when the person I’m taking the photo isn’t aware of me.
Enough about my photo habits. This is one of my fave LO’s and I hope you like it too!
I feel a little creative today and thought I would start with some Elite Challenges. There are three challenges set each month. A CC (colour challenge), a SC (sketch challenge) and the one I did this morning which is a SSC (stamp set challenge) Here it is-
The first thing you will see is that it is crooked! I didn’t see that until I was editing the photo. Oh well! It’s not out by much. Just don’t look at it…lol. I love the heart stamp in this set and have had this design in my head for a little while now. I think this particular stamp set is great for embossing. With this stamp though we don’t have the heart punch in our catalogue yet. Maybe it will be in the next catalogue due in April. I am so excited about the new catalogue. Just an excuse to spend more money on some fabulous stamps….lol.
At the moment I’m having trouble with my oldest boy not eating his lunch at school. I think he maybe sick of the same thing over and over. So if I made it more interesting he might be more tempted to eat it. So I was wondering if any of you have some tasty little recipes for homemade snacks/meals?? It would be great to get any info on this. I have no hair left from pulling it all out in exasperation.
I have other challenges to do to so better hook in and attempt to finish them.
I really need more practice at Water Colouring. This was the result from using the markers. Not toooo bad, but still not great. I do love the LO of this card though and I think the sponging really pops the image. I even pulled out some embellishments….well brads anyway. I love this set and I might go and play with it some more!
